7. This just proves he's in it for the war
And he never had plans to pull out! How can he say this? Does he have a crystal ball? What if Iraq gets their act together and begins running the whole show themselves? Bush STILL has no intention of pulling out, given ANY possible scenario.

That smug face disgusts me. I sure hope we all get a chance to see Karma bitch-slap this monster!

12. So he's admitting this will go on for 3 more years.
Then he hopes his brainwashed followers will put the blame for his failure on the next President. In the meantime the troops will just have to pay the price.

14. He said future presidents of Iraq, didn't he?
I mean, not that it makes a difference other than it puts the decision making even further off of himself. Whatever lets him get back to ridin' bikes sooner, I guess.

15. There's the strategy...
the next administration, probably Democratic, will be a one term president because he'll (or she'll) end the crap in Iraq and be branded a coward.

Oh, and they will have to raise taxes to try and put a dent in the debt and will be unpopular for it.

There it is, plain and simple. This administration has planted it's poison pill for the next one.

19. My God! Is that picture from today?
Jesus fucking christ I didn't watch the dog and pony act that the chimperor puts out, but if that came from today I'm scared that's fucking awful. It shows a soul devoid of feeling full of the mean smallness of a sociopath telling us to fuck off. Someone needs to put a straight jacket on this crazy mofo.

21. I guess as long as there's oil left....

BUSH DIDN'T BUNGLE IRAQ, YOU FOOLS
THE MISSION WAS INDEED ACCCOMPLISHED
The Guardian
Monday Mar 20, 2006
by Greg Palast
Get off it. All the carping, belly-aching and complaining about George Bush's incompetence in Iraq, from both the Left and now the Right, is just dead wrong.

snip

"It's about oil," Robert Ebel told me. Who is Ebel? Formerly the CIA's top oil analyst, he was sent by the Pentagon, about a month before the invasion, to a secret confab in London with Saddam's former oil minister to finalize the plans for "liberating" Iraq's oil industry. In London, Bush's emissary Ebel also instructed Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, the man the Pentagon would choose as post-OIF oil minister for Iraq, on the correct method of disposing Iraq's crude.

And what did the USA want Iraq to do with Iraq's oil? The answer will surprise many of you: and it is uglier, more twisted, devilish and devious than anything imagined by the most conspiracy-addicted blogger. The answer can be found in a 323-page plan for Iraq's oil secretly drafted by the State Department. Our team got a hold of a copy; how, doesn't matter. The key thing is what's inside this thick Bush diktat: a directive to Iraqis to maintain a state oil company that will "enhance its relationship with OPEC..

25. BUSH: You mean a complete withdrawal? That's a timetable.
Third part of your question?

QUESTION: It was: Will there come a day — and I'm not asking you when; I'm not asking for a timetable — will there come a day when there will be no more American forces in Iraq?

BUSH: That, of course, is an objective. And that will be decided by future presidents and future governments of Iraq.

QUESTION: So it won't happen on your watch?

BUSH: You mean a complete withdrawal? That's a timetable.

I can only tell you that I will make decisions on force levels based upon what the commanders on the ground say.

26. However in context...
Bush could be referring to future presidents and governments OF IRAQ, not the United States, since Iraq's government is still yet to be formed.

29. No, he was clear.
WASHINGTON - President Bush said Tuesday that American forces will remain in Iraq for years and it will be up to a future president to decide when to bring them all home.
