Now he is trying to explain discretionary spending.

I loved the "since you haven't vetoed anything I would guess you are pleased with it (58% increase in the debt)" at the end of the question.

Yep, every war plan gets thrown out when the war starts. Why didn't anyone tell us this at the start?

And by the way, bush, we didn't just lose time. We lost 2300 Americans, tens of thousands of Iraqis, a trillion bucks, and maybe the entire game. Fuck you, W.

These are mandatory spending increases...that's why it's important for us to modernize and strengthen social security...2ndly, in terms of discretionary spending, we have suggested Congress fully fund troops in harm's way, 2ndly we asked Congress to fund victims of Katrina...money well spent...3rdly other than security discretionary spending...since I've been President we've cut non-security discretionary spending."

Could that have anything to do with these record deficits? Sounds like the only problem is those pesky Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries.

Boy, is he snippy today!

"If they see us lose our nerve" What? Where was Dubya's nerve when he hid out in the Champagne Squadron? Chickenhawks like him have plenty of nerve when they are subjecting other people to physical danger and poverty.

Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 10:48 AM by Roland99
"If we were to prematurely withdraw, Al Qaeda would be emboldened...the islamofascists would be emboldened."

"there's a lot of reformers in the Middle EAst that would like to see Iraq succeed. If we were to leave prematurely would disappoint those reformers...it would send a signal to the terrorists. This country of ours oughta work to spread liberty...is it a noble purpose to spread liberty around the world...it is a...uh...it's...a....a....there's universality when it comes to liberty...this isn't an American possession...people desire to be free...history has shown that democracies don't war."

Shoots down a follow-up question "Excuse me, David...excuse me. (hand out in halting gesture)

"Now, what is your follow-up yell?"

"What would make the reformers' job more difficult?"

"If the Iranians see us lose our nerve it would embolden them."

As four year olds...

He should keep practicing with my pet goat.

How brave of him to face the howling liberals in the press! This will be the view from the parallel universe of the right wing.

77. I wish I could use that line. "Hey, I'd like to stay but I've got lunch
with the president of Liberia, so...you know. Bye."

You know what? I'm going to use it anyway.

86. Wow, a Republican caller is calling Dubya on his immigrant statements
Says Dubya shouldn't refer to jobs Americans won't do. These are jobs Americans don't want to do for ridiculously low wages.

You know, there are still some areas in the US that are not overrun by illegal immigrants. If the pukes' arguments are valid, then how is it that hotels in these areas remain open? Huh? Who is making the beds, etc.?

Holy cow, another Republican just called in with anti-Bush comments! Said she has started to wake up.
