KC AntiWar Rally - Pictures
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 07:15 PM by proud2Blib

DUer evlbstrd helping set up for the rally. They hung pictures of all the soldiers who have died and names of Iraqis who had also been killed. It was an impressive site - all those pictures hanging all over the park!

We had a good sized crowd, especially considering the weather was cold and windy with storms in the forecast.

All local TV stations were present and all did stories last night.

This is DUer KansDem. Great sign, eh?

This kid told me he made his sign himself. I was impressed!
It says "Quit Bombing My Children - God"

This kid was with the one above. His sign says
"And you thought he was pro-life"

These kids wore their signs.

This guy had front and back signs.

Always a good sign!

I loved this t-shirt! It is a picture of a bomber and the caption is
"Democracy We Deliver"

Another two sided sign.

4. You guys looked GREAT!
I saw coverage of the protest on the local FOX channel - They gave you guys 95% of the coverage.

They devoted very little time to the lone war supporter standing across the street!

7. Yeah but that asshole was on all 4 local stations!
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 07:41 PM by proud2Blib
He said the same thing to every reporter. I thought that was kinda funny. Some lame ass remark about getting the job done. Oh, and don't tell the TV guys this, but he wasn't all by himself. There were a total of FOUR counter protesters. But they were banned from coming into the park so they had to stay across the street.

43. I noticed every time a police car passed through the intersection...
He saluted them!

I thought even the police must realize he's a nut case.

13. Too extreme in my tastes
Most of those signes made little to no sense.

Impeach Bush? He's declared a police action (Not a war, just military action), ergo, he's not personally responsible legally for military action.

Was President Lincoln held responsible for the deaths? FDR? George Washinton?

Just because you don't believe in this war, doesn't necissarily make him a war criminal.

14. Well, Tom, I think the Impeach signs
were about the warrantless wiretapping Bush has said he has done, not about any actions he has made leading up to or during this war. Welcome to DU! :hi:

will be relieved it wasn't a war!

22. LOL I see my pictures have attracted a new DUer!!
Welcome!
:hi:

There are so many reasons to impeach the man, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Let's see . . . how about warantless wiretapping? Or - now here is a novel idea - we could impeach him for LYING. (Don't really know where to start on that one either) But I am sure you noticed that he told a whopper just today! You heard didn't you? He denied ever connecting Sadaam and 9/11!! LOL But really, if Clinton can get impeached for lying about a blow job, then surely we can impeach bush for lying about a war.

No I am sure Lincoln, FDR and Washington were not considered war criminals by most American people, but they didn't lie about the reason for war and they didn't invade innocent countries. They also WON the wars they led us into and had the support of a majority of Americans.

el pretzeldente isn't a war criminal because I don't believe in this war. LOL He is perfectly capable of committing criminal acts of war regardless of what I think about what he is doing.

That's good. He's a war criminal because I don't believe in this war. LOLOLOLOL

We can't really impeach a "president" who was never actually elected in the first place, right? :P

44. Well, this statement kind of blows Bush's argument out of the water...
He's declared a police action (Not a war, just military action)

Until now he's been saying he can do whatever he wants because he's a "war president." So the sheeple believe he can illegally wiretap Americans because "we're at war." But now that you've declared this whole Iraqi invasion to be a "police action." Have you ever heard any president say, "I'm a 'police action' president, so I can do whatever I want." Have you ever heard the people say "We're in a 'police action,' the president can do whatever he wants." ??? Either "war" or "police action," arrest Bush--he broke the law.

Time to impeach and indict.
