Toensing: The American people...don't have a...right to know DIDDLEY DOO!
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 09:09 PM by Stephanie

DIDDLEY DOO!

Absolutely unfuckingbelievably INSULTING statement!

Victoria Toensing's interview on the PBS show NOW about the NSA, with Maria Hinojosa. Direct quote >

"The American people, first of all, do not have a Constitutional right to know DIDDLEY DOO."

The arrogance and disdain and spite in her voice. These people are insufferable. The belligerance! The attitude! The condescension!

Who else heard this?

Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 09:04 PM by Stephanie

Victoria Toensing, a lawyer and longtime Republican who helped write the Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982, which is at the center of this case, said Bush is now saying what he probably meant to say when the leak investigation was launched. "Of course you are going to be concerned if a law was broken," she said. "But what is it that somebody did wrong if they didn't break the law?"

The American people do indeed have a Constitutional right to know diddly-poo, and a whole hell of a lot more than that! They have a right to ALL the information they need to make informed political choices, should they choose to avail themselves of said information.

Shortly after Pinhead** was sElected, I read where Prescott Bush told his offspring that the American people were to be treated with disdain. A lesson well taught and learn by Pinhead et al. When ** told an audience that they were the "haves and have more, his base" he wasn't speaking of the red state morans-one paycheck away from the poor house kool-aid drinkers who worship him. Talk about delusional.

39. She was connected to Bush I's WH male prostitution ring
Officials in the Bush and Reagan administrations, Republican socialites and military officers were regular, credit card clients of a homosexual prostitution ring now under investigation by the FBI and the Secret Service, The Washington Times reported yesterday. said several clients, including himself, were blackmailed by the prostitutes. He said that because "big names" were involved, "a high-level official is going to try to block the investigation and may succeed."

June 30, 1989

The focus on private White House tours came after the Washington Times reported that Craig J. Spence, a prominent Washington lobbyist and one-time registered foreign agent for Japan, arranged tours of the White House -- once around midnight -- for friends and business associates. It said one such group included two male prostitutes from escort services that are now the subject of an investigation by U.S. Attorney Jay Stephens.

June 30, 1989

The Secret Service said it does not know how a Washington lobbyist linked to a homosexual prostitution ring was able to arrange a midnight tour of the White House last year but said it was investigating how the group gained access to the presidential mansion. "The matter is being looked into," said Allan Cramer, a Secret Service spokesman. "I'm sure we'll have more to say about what happened soon. It is something we are very interested in."

The Secret Service last week expanded its investigation with inquiries about friends and associates of Mr. Spence. Two of those friends are former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova and his wife, Victoria Toensing, a former deputy assistant attorney general for the Justice Department's criminal division."

July 10, 1989

A classic Washington power couple, diGenova, 53, and Toensing, 56, occupy a strange, symbiotic nexus between the media and the law that boosts their stock in both worlds . . . Name a high-profile investigation in this city and chances are the prosecutorial pair is involved . . . .DiGenova stepped down in 1988 to enter private practice; his successor Jay Stephens . . .

Other reporters around Washington said they were interested in pursuing the story but decided against it when they checked with the Secret Service and other investigative agencies and were told that the raid was relatively routine . . . a key law enforcement official came to lunch at the Post and assured the staff that the investigation was primarily on credit card fraud.
