During its initial coverage of Operation Swarmer -- a joint U.S.-Iraqi military operation that began March 16 -- Fox News aired video footage of the wreckage of New York's World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The footage aired during the 11 a.m. ET hour of the March 16 edition of Fox News Live.

During one segment, as anchor Brigitte Quinn interviewed correspondent David Piper regarding Operation Swarmer, Fox aired footage of the nighttime bombing of Baghdad during the initial days of the Iraq war in March 2003. A caption on the video footage identified the date of the film as March 21, 2003, and the location as "Baghdad." Later, Quinn interviewed retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney, asking him to comment on the difference between the tactics used in Operation Swarmer and the so-called "shock and awe" tactics employed during the early days of the war -- massive bombing designed to impel the surrender of Saddam Hussein's regime before the launch of any ground campaign.

1. How strange.
I guess Fox viewers are the last stronghold of the ignorant, and they are desperate to keep them that way.

A normal person would say, "Um, what does a 9/11 scene have to do with this story?"

2. Catapulting the propaganda. Playing to flag wavers. Trying to justify
the War on Iraq? An attempt to morph the 9/11 attacks with Saddam, still? An attempt to boost Pinhead's nose-diving poll numbers? All of the above? Have they no shame? As if!

5. And when they get called on it by FAIR or MediaMatters
they will act astonished that anyone could think of suggesting they are trying to connect 9-11 with Iraq in people's minds.

10. Brainwashing of the sheep continues unabated.

From Brainwashing America:

In an earlier article, I reviewed the varied aspects of personality profiling and simulation. While serving as Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at the U.S. Army War College, 1993-1995, I conducted studies on profiling, psychological programming, and brainwashing. I explored and developed personality simulation systems, an advanced technology used in military war games, FBI profiling, political campaigning, and advertising. Part of my discovery was that:

* unenlightened human minds are combinations of infantile beliefs and emotional patterns

* these patterns can be simulated in profiling systems

* these profiling systems can be used to program and control people

Personality simulation systems are being used to create political campaigns that apply voter profiles to control their voting behavior. TV commercials and programs use personality simulation to profile viewers to control their purchasing and viewing behaviors. And sophisticated propaganda and brainwashing techniques are being used by the Bush junta to keep American citizens under control.

11. So this would be the video version of Frank Luntz' 9/11/Iraq suggesion?

Remember the suggestion that the admin never mention Iraq w/o mentioning 9/11 at least once?

13. Nice catch. I don't watch them except at the gym. They do
this kind of crap all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if they used subliminal messages as well. (where the image is presented too fast to register in consciousness but is nevertheless unconciously suggested.)

20. Yes, but it's not working! Bush is at 33% despite all the efforts they
are making and Fox is LOSING viewers as more and more people wake up ~ true, there are still some who are vulnerable to this kind of 'programming' but they crossed so many lines, the Ports deal, the huge debt they've run up, the images of Katrina, those were powerful images also, and the one thing they NEVER ever take into account is basic human decency, because they themselves have none. Katrina affected people in a way they can not erase imo.

Knowing what they're doing makes it even more disgusting, especially to those who originally fell for it. People get tired of hearing that we 'must do this because of 9/11' ~ it is getting really, really old. And we have another 9/11, they will be held accountable ~

Yesterday, Scottie tried to invoke 9/11 at least three or four times when Helen was questioning him about whether or not Bush knew he was committing war crimes. She cut him off each time he tried and he was very frustrated, like a child demanding that he be allowed to say '9/11'. It was pathetic and an insult to the victims of that crime.

21. Yes yes yes !
Agree... People do make mistakes... we all do... but what makes
us human is that we can wake up and do the RIGHT THING.
And YEAH !!! Support for Bush and his cabal is collapsing
at an unbelievable rate (there's that good ol' tipping point).

What's hilarious is that the reichwingers just can't seem
to help themselves - they are bleeding from a thousand
self-inflicted wounds - and every day they make it worse
with some new bonehead maneuvre. Keep it up fellas !!

That makes me sick. :puke:

How low can they go?

Fox is so foreign and bazaar to me. It seems so over the top.

I can't believe people are sucked into that muck.

Before the election I tried to sway my repub cousin in Missouri but when he said he got satellite radio just to listen to faux news I knew I had no chance. :(
