Tweety "amazed" that the shrub is unpopular
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 11:47 PM by tjwash
On the March 15 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, host Chris Matthews was incredulous and "amazed" when confronted with a March 10-13 NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showing that just 39 percent of respondents expressed "positive" feelings toward President Bush, compared with 50 percent who expressed "negative" feelings. In a discussion of the poll, Mathews admitted, "I'm amazed when 50 percent of the people don't like him -- just don't like this guy."

Chris, is your 15 minutes up yet? I know that years ago Hardball turned the corner, to become the official cesspool of right-wing sleaze, but come on. Can you be a little less obvious about being completely bought off by the right?

When I think of you I recall:

How no one knew who the hell you even were, until Bill Clinton got a hummer. You then made an entire career out of the Clenis, while claiming that you were a Democrat while you were doing so.

How you went starry eyed and weak-kneed, fawning over dubyas bulge as he strutted around the flight deck of an American aircraft carrier, in a uniform that he never earned, and still does not respect.

How you lobbed softball questions at the chimp in the oval office, and telling him how great he was, while gazing longingly at him like you were on a first date, while our kids came home in body bags, and the situation in the middle east was deteriorating into the hell that it is now.

One can only hope he goes the way of Dennis Miller, but this jerk will just not go away. :argh:

1. The number of far-left crazies grows each day.
I believe that's what he said earlier on his show. Everyone loves bush except for the far-left crazies.

3. What are Matthews' ratings these days?
Is he even beating the Food Channel in his time slot? I'm very happy that I'm no longer contributing to whatever viewership still clings to his smarmy Chimp fluffing self.

4. Tweety's been well rewarded for his idolatry
and so he can't possibly understand how those of us in workaday land who have been screwed without being kissed can possibly dislike the administration and the party that's been doing the screwing.

Tweety won't understand until he makes some sort of mistake and the right drops him like a hot rock and he's out of work at a relatively young age and nobody wants him in front of a camera any more. That's when it might get through to him.

5. He had the same reaction to low numbers weeks ago
You'd think he'd have adjusted by now....Unless he wants it to seem like an eternally sudden phenomenon rather than a well established fact.

9. Wasn't he saying that they were slanted and not reliable?
Oops. I guess now that the shrub is 39% in a WSJ poll, he can't do the liberal bias dance.

13. I didn't see him question the poll- here's a clip
http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?g=5ea4d853-a6cc-474f-85f6-760c86c92dff&f=00

In an interview on the Today show, discussing the CBS poll Chris said things like: "34% job approval....and then the number that really surprised me. 29% on personal approval - People don't like the president even more than they don't like his policies, which is a staggering blow. We all know that he's had 2 things going for him: the War On Terror where he's gotten good numbers and now they're negative and like-ability. They're both gone now."

14. Tweety is bought and paid for by General Electric...
and he has the house in Nantucket, alongside Jack Welch and Russert, to prove it. He's a rich and happy man, unburdened by conscience.
