Lets help the White House : Step 1 : Fire Scott McClellan
I dont want to give these chumps any pointers -

But they could end at least some of their PR problems if the would just get rid of this guy.

And they have re-define the role of presidential spokesman.

They make Scotty do too much of the actually selling of the war...all of this "spreading freedom around the globe" grandstanding language means nothing coming form this guy. They need a change of tone and approach.

FWIW - Ari came off way better and stronger. The difference is stunning...

Bush is way short on credibility these days...McClellan just makes it worse on a daily basis...

I think Scotty is hurting him with his own people...

Classic example of how not to do this job...

2. He's really bad.
I wouldn't be able to be in the room and not cough, "Horseshit!"

But then, they wouldn't let me in the room anyway.

3. He is following orders, do you think anyone else would do/say anything
different?

His job is stonewalling, obfuscating and selling the spin du jour.

4. I don't want them to do ANYTHING that might make them look better-
they NEED to look like the incompetent bastards they are, and the worse they look, one hopes that the faster people will finally wise up.

5. I love Scotty!

Oh, wait...

That's not Scotty.

I always get those two confused.

6. Why fire Scotty ? He's the only one doing what he's supposed to...
He obfuscates...

He changes the subject...

He sticks to the "party line"...

He trumpets every Administration effort as a great success...

That kind of reliability is pretty hard to replace.
