The 2008 GOP Ticket: John McCain & Jeb Bush
That's the ticket.

It's already decided.

McCain smothers GWB in love from now on.

Bush ups the troop numbers in Iraq in deference to McCain.

If Cheney resigns, McCain is VP.

Jeb gets to be McCain's "choice" in 2008 to deliver Florida's motherlode of electoral votes one more time.

Take it to the bank.

McCain & Bush 2008

How the FUCK could a guy who stood up to the North Vietnamese for YEARS turn into such a lapdog?

I just don't get it.

disappeared a long time ago. How much abuse can one man take and keep coming back for more?

21. I don't know about that
mccain already has said he wants a continued prescence in Iraq, is for a draft hidden as a required two year service to your country program, wants to overturn roe v wade, has voted for every major bush bill, voted against making Martin Luther King a national holiday, took bribes from Keating during the S&L crisis, and has an extremely neocon voting record

No, there is plenty against mccain why he should lose, but except for a few democrats such as Feingold, most are too afraid to debate him head on with the issues

Hillary wants to continue the slaughter in Iraq, and frankly win or lose in 2008, it would be nice to see a candidate on our side that wants to end the nightmare

If he wins the nomination he's the next president. He would take Massachusetts for cripes sake.

40. I really wonder about that
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 11:56 AM by still_one
most people do NOT know what his voting record is. The MSM has painted him as a moderate. That would be the goal of our candidate to inform.

For example, on just one issue, if the polls are correct the majority of people believe that abortion should be legal in the first trimester. McCain has a different view

The majority of people believe our involvement in Iraq is wrong, and we should leave within a year. McCain has a different view

McCain voted for almost every regressive legislation that the bush administration threw at congress

People are stupid, but they are starting to hurt with increased debt loads, healthcare costs, education costs, and no relief in sight

When more and more people are affected personally by the actions of this administration, and mccain was a supporter of this administration,

it may not be as the media would like you to believe

42. People don't vote for president in a rational way
they don't tally up a scorecard of positions to detremine which choice is better for themselves and the country. the reagan/bush agenda is not popular with the public but the gopers win because of other reasons.

5. I know they are pushing McCain hard....
to put in place in the event the Chimp needs the white coats and straight jackets before he makes "changes."

The Jeb Bush thing I hadn't put into the equation... But, it makes sense given all we've seen. The most "in your face, bizarre" will always be the Bush Crime Family's choice.........

sad....but probably not as fantastic as it might sound on first read.......

18. "Changes"
Yeah, the whole Russert and Baker thing about "changes" is really just the beginning.

McCain has the popularity that Bush needs now to keep from losing Congress in November and thereby possibly being impeached, tried or both.

Changes.

24. Bush isn't making the "changes" the Repugs are now clammering for...
but it seemed to me McCain was being "groomed" with his own ambitions helping him to "come in" in case Bush get's dragged out by the "white coats." It's more likely that Cheney get's ditched and McCain is now "groomed" to fill in...giving the heir apparent to the Repugs.

BUT...the Repugs don't get that it's a BUSH DYNASTY...so McCain is too strong and they will have to keep him out so Jebbie can get ready...so that means that Chimp will hang in there with NO CHANGES unless the "white coats" come for him (given his bizarre mispeaks and idiocy..it might come to that) and so your scenario is probably correct.

I know...much hyperbole from me on this...but these folks are insane...and it's all gotten to me.....

Still I know that McCain is sucking up to the Chimp for some good reason...and it's my gut telling me he's a replacement for one of the two of them......... The Lead Actor get's too drunk and has too many demons and the "understudy" is groomed to fill in.

9. I have said this was the deal for some time now
McCain is an old man, but wants to be President. Bush 41/43 do not believe Jebbie would make it in 2008 because of two many Bush already, so McCain/Jebbie is the deal and after one term McCain "retires" and Jebbie runs in 2012.

15. Tired, but Jeb has Florida and GOP can't win without it.
McCain gets the Bush & Baker money connections and Florida's electoral potential if he continues to kiss W's ass (which he sure has been doin' lots of lately) and agrees to have Jeb on the ticket.

It's done already.

Doesn't John McCain really look "old" lately?

Maybe that's a question that Americans should be asking. Why does John McCain look so unhealthy lately?

It's not getting better and it's been there more than a year. It does not bode well for him. I don't want him to run but I do wish him good health. He's an American hero. He'd be a lousy president.

He constantly turns his left side away from the camera, but it's hard to miss. Something's very wrong.

29. No. Nothing has been decided.
McCain's not going to get the nomination and Jeb isn't even running.

Just because a lot of people here run around like chickens saying "Jebbie's the one in '08, Jebbie's the one in '08" doesn't mean it's going to happen. First off, to repeat myself, Jeb isn't running.

Second off, just like on the Democratic side, it's more than a year too early to try to handicap the actual race. Anyone who correctly guesses the nominees will be just lucky.

However, I will predict that since the Democratic establishment is trying too hard to be Republican lite (notice the overwhelming lack of response to Feingold's censure of Bush), on the apparent theory that that's the way to win elections, they'll do badly this November.

Our only hope is that the grass roots actually start doing something themselves. Run for office. Withhold money and support from Democrats who don't oppose the war, who don't demand that Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib be shut down and those who did the dirty work there be brought to justice, who don't insist that rich people pay their fair share of taxes. You get the idea.

and McCain will die, quit for health, or incapcitate just far enough into the term that Jebthro will get to finish McCain's term and be eligible for TWO TERMS of his own and thanks to Diebold and the BFEE psyops I don't doubt at all that Jeb Bush will be prsident for more than 8 years. 41. I don't think so
McCain will try to put distance in a general election between himself and the administration, by putting Bush's brother on the ticket it will only cause outcries of nepotism and already people want a change. You don't get that with a Bush on the ticket. McCain will go right for the nomination (as he is already doing) and then in a general he will try to move to the center to appeal to Independents--who is he is already popular with.
