Oh BROTHER. Bush Meets w/Autistic Boy Who Shot Winning Basket
:eyes:

The local Dallas FOX news station (not the cable version) just reported that President Bush, in New York today, met with Jason McElwayne, the autistic kid who shot the winning basket during a basketball game. They showed Bush walking arm in arm with Jason. Bush had the usual "What the hell am I doing here, get me out of this stupid photo-op" kind of look on his face. He's at it again - trying to capitalize on this sensationalized story in order to make him look like a "man of the people."

Bush: "You probably didn't realize the impact you'd have on people across America and across the world."

:eyes:

1. It was a one day story at best. I had forgotten about it already.
How many people around the world really gave a damn?

4. It was a neat story, but........
it didn't need this asshole getiing involved in it to pump it up. It's really kinda pathetic when the "president" of the "last superpower" has to bask in the reflected glory of a teenage kid.

6. winning basket? i thought they already had the game locked up
i thought the thing was that they wouldn't put him in until he they had the game locked up, then they put him in and he scored several 3-pointers in a few minutes.

7. Yep, that's what happened.
Think it was one of their last games of the year also.

It was a wonderful gesture on the part of the school to let him play. Sounds like he was a heck of a shot!!

10. It WAS an amazing performance
But it's just absolutely pathetic that our President is so hated by everyone on Earth that he has to hang out with this kid in order to try to score some "Q" points.
