2. Wouldn't be too big of a surprise
Since 1976, a Dole or Bush has run on a presidential ticket either as pres or veep. If Hillary runs in 2008, we can say since 1976, a Dole, Bush, or Clinton has run.

3. John McCain is going to be TOO old in 08 to run
I think he is 72 now or will be in 08. He has a problem with the swelling on the side of his face. Could be the cancer has returned? I say he WILL NOT RUN.

6. Hm... I didn't realize how old he was.
He doesn't seem old, or frail. But two years is a long time at that age.

7. He also makes the fundy nutcases very nervous
because he's been trying to put out propaganda that he's some kind of MODERATE. The fundies bought into that even more heavily than the suburban unwashed did.

We know he's far right, but they don't. He's going to have to do a hard sell over the next three years if he wants to convince them he's "safe," a hard sell that will alienate all the people he needs to think he's a moderate.

My guess is that it will be Allen/McCain, if he runs at all.
