Ariel Sharon

CONFIRMED: PM ARIEL SHARON IS (AT LEAST CLINICALLY) DEAD
By Israel Insider staff and partners January 5, 2006

Reliable sources indicate to Israel Insider that PM Ariel Sharon died at 11 am. Israeli media channels still report his condition is "very grave." Director of Hadassah Hospital Shlomo Mor-Yosef officially denies "rumors" of death and says Sharon's condition is "serious but stable."

One of the factors in the cloud of uncertainty regarding the announcement of brain death, media sources speculated, relates to the effect of the announcement on stock markets.

Another reason was a supposed regulation preventing publication of the PM's death except by the official representative of the government, presumably the Cabinet Secretary Yisrael Maimon.

According to Channel 10, the official death announcement is planned for Sunday, when world markets are closed, assuming that this will suffice to accommodate the travel plans of A-list world and Jewish leaders

3. Yol Bolsun!
May there be a road! When we die, we mourn. When we are born, we celebrate. Seems backwards to me...

4. In this day and age
anyone can be kept alive indefinitely with machines. The only difference here is whether or not it is for medical or political reasons that Sharon is being kept in a medically induced coma.

6. Makes sense to me - they called in the leaders
and gave them three days "notice". by saying he sould be "sedated" for that period. He will be declared truly dead after the three days or if the leaders have a transition strategy before then.

15. There is a small town near here called Apple Grove.
I thought that Bill Clinton was closer to cooling off things between Israel and Palestine than anyone else so far. I was really happy to see the progress Clinton made in the ME. It's too bad it all came unglued. I feel very sorry for people on both sides of that endless fight. I was sure the Palestinian homeland was reachable during the Clinton years. I hated to see the wall going up. It reminded me so much of the old Iron Curtain. Bush has wrecked everything he has laid his dirty hand to. Roadblocks to peace is the only thing Bush is good at creating.

16. Did you read the Vanity Fair article that went into the "interfearance"
in a Clinton meeting with one of the Israeli PMs. Religeous right got to him first on an official visit. Seems the last thing they wanted was for Clinton to broker the peace.

I almost had a cow!

17. I didn't read the piece you mention but...
the religious right is every bit as fanatical, as any terrorist kook in the ME ever dared to be. They are always PUSHING for their "Armageddon." A person has to have a screw loose to buy into their insanity. How on Earth can people be so stupid?

18. Pat Robertson: Sharon's stroke was a smite job
According to God's duly self-appointed bad news messenger, Sharon's stroke was God's punishment for dividing up Israel. "You read the Bible, he says, 'This is my land.' And for any prime minister of Israel who decides he's going carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No. This is mine.'"

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/01/05/060105231109.adssezuz.html

However, as yet there has been no word from Robertson as to why God has stricken redder than red states Texas and Oklahoma with drought and hellfire.
