"Media Matters" Conservative Guests Dominate "Hardball" w/Chris Matthews
Edited on Wed Mar-08-06 04:32 PM by KoKo01
Hardball for the left, softball for the right: Conservatives dominate on Hardball

Summary: A Media Matters study of guests on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews shows that Republican and conservative guests have dominated Hardball during the first two months of 2006.

Employing the same methodology, Media Matters tallied all guests who appeared on Hardball during the first two months of 2006 and coded them based on party affiliation and ideology. (A list of the guests is here.) The data reflected in these charts show that the number of Republican/conservative guests has been significantly higher than the number of Democratic/progressive guests. In January, Republicans/conservatives led Democrats/progressives 55 to 38 -- a difference of 59 percent to 41 percent. By February, that advantage had increased: Republican/conservatives outnumbered Democrats/progressives 55 to 34, or 62 percent to 38 percent.

4. It's because they're cheapskates.
Instead of paying to have guests on, alot of times they'll just drag a couple of MSNBC repugs onto the show. I can't count how many times they bring Tucker and Scarburough on...

5. The numbers actually lie too
The dems who "are" invited are usually weak and allow themselves to be steered off-point, and interrupted constantly by the rightwing zealots opposite them.
The screaming-head shows always invite the "Colmes-iest" dems to spar with the "Coulter-iest" republicans..

I quit watching long ago..

8. Really -- it's like Bob Shrum (Mr. DLC) is glued to the Hardball set
He's about the ONLY Dem they have on anymore ... and he's hardly a REAL Dem at that!

9. I checked his show out tonight.... Christopher Hitchens was on...balanced
by Eugene Robinson. But, it was :puke: fest all the way...it seemed to me. AND his show is appearing THREE TIMES TONIGHT! MSNBC has added an 11:00 p.m. time slot, which Tweety was THRILLED to announce.

Sheesh... They are really pulling out all stops to get the Chimps ratings above the 38 %...when we all know it must be 25% but the Polls are like Bush & Co.'s Labor Dept. Statistics.. "all wrong all the time."
