Jackie K. had much more class than Laura.
Laura Bush is speaking in New Orleans right now.

Jackie wore shades often, but she knew when to take them off. Laura is talking about her library foundation, in front of the cameras, with Jackie-style shades on.

What I'm wondering is what she's hiding behind those dark lenses.

4. There has not been a First Lady since Jackie with as much class
as she had! I remember how a BIG % of females in the US all wore clothing styles "just like Jackie's", even her hairstyle was popular. She was the perfect example of a "First Lady"! The only other one that came even close was Nancy Reagan.

Jackie Kennedy was loved all around the world. Nancy Reagan couldn't carry her lunch while Raygun was in office.

14. I didn't mean that Nancy was nearly as GREAT as Jackie,
but that Nancy at least has good fashion sense, and was a gratious hostess at the Wh. ALL the others since have been, hmmmm.....unworthy of a camera? classless?

6. Laura Bush is not even close to being in Jackie's league
She's not even in the same Universe. To compare that brain-dead hick to Jackie pisses me off a bit, I must say. Although not your intention.:)

8. She really tries to emulate Jackie's look-
But she looks so silly. I will never forget seeing the get up she wore for the Pope's funeral.

She looked like a cross between the Flying Nun (dressed in black) and someone dressed as Jackie O for Halloween!!

16. No comparison whatsoever between Jackie and Laura
NONE!

Jacqueline Kennedy had class. She was dignified, kind, caring, and had her feet firmly planted on the ground. She raised two very nice children. She was a beautiful person, internally as well as externally.

Jacqueline Kennedy was the ultimate First Lady. She set the standard by which all other First Ladies are judged. She made America a better place because she was the First Lady.

Laura Bush is a hag. Enough said.

17. One thing i know about Jackie Kennedy Onassis
having met her several times, is she would have really disliked the comments on this thread. She was indeed a gracious person. She focused on whoever she was speaking with. She was bright, curious and kind.

19. You are so fortunate to have met her
She rode her horse near my home in NJ and I saw her ride, back in the mid '60's when she was really chased by the press. But I never met her.

I remember reading Jackie O. and hearing it was a negative biography, but I liked her even better after reading it, warts and all.

Buut, you cannot really compare. It is really like comparing apples (Golden delicious, in Jackie's case) and apples (horse, in Laura's case).:hippie:

23. A much more realistic comparison for Pickles would be...
...to compare her with Barbara Bush.

I'd say Laura Bush has a little more "class" than her mother-in-law, and the two have about the same fashion sense (none).

Jackie O was a great First Lady. Pickles is classless. Not only that, she is the only First Lady to have been directly resposnsible for the death of another human being!

Notice the style of her clothes. And when she went to see the Pope. So it's nothing new at all.

34. Actually, sadly, as I remember
a lot of folks couldn't stand Jackie Kennedy, especially after she married Onassis.

And Laura Bush is nothing if not popular. I'm not getting into whether that is meritted or not, because I know nothing about her and I like to keep the wives, kids, parents, out of it so we can see more clearly through the crosshairs.
