Spike Lee: "Condi! Stop smoking that crack!"

Director Spike Lee has ignited a scornful attack on the U.S. Secretary Of State, Condoleezza Rice, controversially announcing that the government official should "stop smoking that crack," according to a published report.

The director believes Condoleezza Rice has been too busy living the high-life in D.C. and in New York City, while all the people in the southern states have been suffering from the long-term effects of the devastating Hurricane Katrina last summer.

He tells 'Stuff' magazine, "I dislike Condoleezza Rice more than (President George W.) Bush. The thing about it is that she's gotten a free ride from black people. People say, 'She's so successful' and 'Look at her position as a black woman.' She is a black woman who grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and said that she never experienced a day of racism in her life."

"Condi, stop smoking that crack!

"I know you love your Ferragamo shoes, but come on. While people were drowning in New Orleans, she was going up and down Madison Avenue buying Ferragamo shoes. Then she went to see 'Spamalot.'"

Y'all recall the great spoof Will Farrell did of Janet Reno in the Janet Reno Dance Party skits, and how Janet had the humor and class to "crash" the skit as herself! Imagine a black comedienne spoofing Condi in a mini and thigh high boots. Or maybe a Condi Rice Shopping Spree skit.
"Madame Secretary, thousands of elderly blacks are threatened with drowning in NOLA!"

6. What's more, when she finally consented to interrupting her shopping...

...she did it merely to make appearances proclaiming the administration's lack of reaction to Katrina had nothing to do with racism. Her audiences at these appearances? All white people, of course. It was as if the administration dug out its lone still-active token to reassure the white base not to feel guilty over what Katrina exposed. "See? She's a black person and she agrees with us that we're not racist!"

I'd love to see her try going before a black audience slinging that piffle.
