So I'm sitting here watching a documentary on JFK and I can only think:
THANK GOD BUSH CAME 45 YEARS AFTER THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS. Can you imagine what hell there would have been to pay had the Boy King been at the helm then? It makes me ill to consider what may have happened.

3. None of us would be here to talk about it.
Bush would have been strutting around shouting BRING IT ON!

4. If you had seen the "Fog of War", you will recall how McNamara
told how JFK had sought an opinion to oppose the prevailing mood to pursue military action that would lead to WWIII. That was the only thing that prevented war and was the correct assessment of Kruschev's motives. We now have Bush who surrounds himself by those who agree with him-I think we've already seen the result in Iraq, NOLA, etc. .

6. If we're watching the same thing, it's a whole documentary on
The Kennedy's - it's really good and quite heartbreaking.

10. Yeah, its on a new channel on Dish Network called "DOC"
I noticed it was produced in 1983 and narrated by Cliff Robertson, but yes...it is well done.

without watching that documentary, I was thinking about Iran and how these idiots are cut from the same cloth as the generals who advised we invade Cuba (and didn't know Fidel's finger was on tactical nuke triggers).

11. Personal story about the Cuban Missile Crisis:
the Russian expert for Kennedy was at my uncle's house and we were there visiting. No one knew that he was but my Grandmother and my aunt and uncle. My mom snapped him on the butt and asked him to dry dishes. He was THRILLED to do it and had a lot of fun. My grandma almost died of inverted snobbery, the silly git. We were sitting on the floor playing monopoly with him when he got a call from Washington, DC. (He had never been around kids and he was so happy to sit and play with us and be just another guy)
He had to leave immediately to go to Washington to advise Kennedy. We called him Mr. White. I will have to e-mail my uncle to ask who he really was.

My closest claim to fame.
