Because it depletes our resources etc. They want to see us screw up and financially go bust.

He also said that he doesn't believe Gen. Pace when he says things are going well in Iraq.

Jack Murtha, doesn't exactly pull punches. :)

1. Exactly what resources do we still have to deplete other than our troops?
THis GD adminstration has so pillaged our future that any good adminstration that follows is going to have a hell of a hand to work with. I'm really worried about what the state of affairs is going to be come 2008.

5. not much
muthra said about 50 billion dollars worth of machines will be left or have been destoyed in iraq. what ever they bring back will be scrapped or rebuilt. we can not fight another land war for at least 5-10 years. this is why murtha is speaking for the leadership in pentagon..

6. I think to their thinking the deeper the hole the better
at this rate we're looking to get rid of entitlements and undo the New Deal and the Great Society. The further we go downhill the more China, in particular, has us buy our jewels.

2. if every democrat in the senate and house
said the same thing then we would get some where...but they are to cowardly to stand with murtha. the leadership of the democratic party priorty is splitting the party and punishing those who dare disagree with them to fight the real enemy.if the democrats lose some key races this year to the republicans they have no one to blamr but themselves. just take a look at the illinios 6th posts and threads to see what they are doing.

3. This is a brilliant attack on the GOP.
Shorter Murtha: The GOP has lost the Iraq bush-war.

4. I love him

That is exactly why they want us to fight Iran, that would break the back of the USA.

8. Murtha has it right
We are so broke now that we are unable to help the Gulf Coast and in particular New Orleans. We can't attack Iran and Murtha mentioned that too. Our national debt is going to sink us economically with interest rates having to be raised.

If we can believe history, and that is in question, Russia got busted in Afghanistan, at least it helped them down the road of financial disaster. It is costly to run a war and keep our war beast fed.

The radical muslims are having a field day recruiting people to their cause due to our arrogance in the ME. Murtha is trying to tell congress to listen up, we are being screwed by this administration.

9. You're right.
The money has run out. THAT is what's going to stop these people from continuing to wage wars until our country is ruined. They've just gotten started!! They had so many plans for the US, and nothing, not failure, not bankrupting the treasury, not 500,000 dead would stop them. They will continue waging war until they are pulled out of the White House, as they hang on to the moulding.

That's what people don't understand about Cheney & Rumsfailed.

The money that was used to fund the Iraq war & Afghanistan was borrowed from the future. Not one cent has been used from current funds.

Here's a little historical factoid: we were in Viet Nam for 10 years. We lost 58,000 US troops. We almost went bankrupt from that war. The US went from a net creditor nation to a net debtor nation, and it's stayed that way ever since.

The war in Iraq will destroy us.
