4. I say our country is now 10 to 15 years behind the rest of the world
when it comes to scientific research/education. Wonderful. Thanks Bush!

12. Very very clever
I love it. That is great, my favorite line is "Sitituational science is about respecting both sides of a scientific argument, not just the one supported by facts" fecking brilliant!!

13. This reminds me of the Soviet's treatment of Kondratieff !
Kondratieff's economic wave theories showed that capitalism was 'perfectable' (by smoothing out the waves, 'fine-tuning' per se) and Stalin couldn't allow that. Eventually Kondratieff died in the gulags.

Dare to speak truth-to-power nowadays with BushCo fascists and off with yer head.

14. I can vouch for people's ignorance of basic science right here in
SoCal. My clients often seem flummoxed by the concept of PREVENTION in veterinary medicine. They truly don't get that because vaccinations PREVENT (not treat) disease, that you don't give them when an animal gets sick in order to make them well. You give them when an animal is well to keep them from getting sick in the first place.

(And no, I don't need any BS from the flat-earthers who don't "believe" in vaccinations.)
