Doesn't Look Like "Conservatives" Will Be Citing The Rasmussen Poll Today
Edited on Sat Mar-04-06 10:04 AM by Mark E. Smith
Saturday March 04, 2006 - Only forty-one percent (41%) of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Just 19% Strongly Approve, while 41% Strongly Disapprove.

Last October 28th, the President's Approval dipped to 40%. Other than that single day, today's reading is the lowest Job Approval Rating ever recorded for President Bush by Rasmussen Reports.

Hell, if Rasmussen has him at 41%, think of where the next round of real polls will put him!

1. the big deal is the disparity of the "strongly"
folks - those are the folks who are glued, not swayed as much by the 'news of the day.' For such a large disparity to be cited by a rasmusson poll, things have got to be very, very bad for bushco.

2. RasNumber -10 = Reality
Of course, the wonderful way the rest of the world is greeting him might give him a bounce.

6. look deeper
the truth is in Ras's layered answers. Compare the to approve cats against the two disapprove.

If there was a weighting factor it would show better.

his support is weak.

3. The Freepers try, unconvincingly to do statistical critiques
Of the polls they don't like.

On the most recent CBS poll, they were pointing out that most of the people sampled were Democrats, but of course, if partisanship were a criteria for selection, you no longer have a "random" sample. Not to mention that the poll was also weighted.

And of course, when Bush's approval ratings are in the 30's it also makes sense that more people are identifying as Democrats. Jumping ship, as it were.

Sincerely,
Got a B in stats, but still know a random sample when I see one. :-)
