Dems Poised to Win US House, Bipartisan Poll Reveals

Two prominent pollsters -- one a Democrat, the other a Republican -- agreed Thursday that Democrats appear poised this year to win back seats in Congress. GOP pollster Ed Goeas even conceded that "if this environment holds, you have to assume will tip for the Democrats" and they will win control of the U.S. House.

Republicans have controlled the House since 1995 and currently outnumber Democrats 232 to 202 (there is one independent) But a series of ethical and political missteps have placed the Republicans at a disadvantage eight months before voters go to the polls.

" continue to be very dissatisfied with the government and that sets the stage for change," said Democratic political strategist Celinda Lake of Lake Snell Perry Mermin and Associates.

According to the survey of 1,000 registered likely voters from Feb. 12 to the 15, 46 percent said they would vote for the Democratic candidate for Congress from their district, while 40 percent said they would vote for the Republican. There was a 3 percent margin of error.

4. If Ed Goeas suggests this
it must be even worse for the repuke scumbags than any of them are willing to admit. If the dems can get organized and actually stay on message (a really tough thing for them) they may do really well.

7. Of course, this could be a case of spinning themselves as underdogs...
...so that any improvement can be touted as "on the comeback trail," and if they only keep a majority by one or two votes, present it as a "great victory" that "continues our mandate." :eyes:

11. That's Exactly What I Thought
They want the Democrats to "peak too soon" and the Republicans to come from behind.

12. We have a WINNAH !!!
They have to admit they are behind, and do it early enough so that as they "gain ground...get theim momentum..close the gap..narrow the race..etc" it will be newsworthy enough so that when they dust off the "Voterigger version 2.06", their "close" win will be validated..

It would look too dodgey if their win came out of thin air.. They tried that in Georgia, and people almost caught on

9. You have said the Key word "Organized"
The different Democratic groups are going to have to put aside the differences and fight as a unified force...if we can do that we will kick the repug assess....

but that has been the repugs strength...they know we are so divided on many different things and they exploit it...

8. Congress is like a Coke machine
You cant tip it over in one go. You have to lean into it and rock it back and forth a couple times before you give it the big push.
