Muslim groups in Indonesia up in arms over transvestism, condoms
Conservative Muslim groups have openly campaigned against transvestism and the use of condoms.

They rallied against on Friday a New Year's Eve contest for the most attractive transvestite in Pekanbaru, Riau and the installation of an automatic condom dispenser in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

More than 100 women from the Muslim Women's Network marched to the Pekanbaru legislative building to demand a meeting with the speaker to complain about the government-sponsored contest.

"The plan to hold a transvestite contest means that the Riau government supports transvestism, which will lead to free sex," Elvira Rosa, coordinator of the group, was quoted as saying by detik.com news portal.

1. Maybe the Muslims and the religious right CAN get along
But that guy is wrong if he thinks transvestitism will lead to free sex.

In Indonesia, it ain't free.

Or so I've heard.

2. Just goes to show
we Americans don't have the lock on fundamental stupidity, eh? We almost won with intelligent design but we'll just have to keep getting stupider if the competition is going to be this stiff.

9. Actually,
I hate to let you in on this one, but if O'Reilly said that (and I thought it was Santorum, an equally useless human) it was one of the rare times he was right. I'm a polyamorist (we leave the term polygamy for the Mormons) and we for damn sure had plans to slip in through that crack. Unfortunately, since the moron and his minions have come along, the gay marriage cause is looking less likely and that makes our cause even more distantly likely but it doesn't change that he was right.
