Dozens of New O.C. Democrats Were Signed Up as Republicans
Registrar will turn over 100 cases of improper registration for possible prosecution. The GOP practice of paying for new voters is blamed.
By Jean O. Pasco, Times Staff Writer
March 2, 2006

Orange County election officials said Wednesday they were preparing to turn over 100 instances of improper voter registration for possible criminal prosecution.

Included are three dozen complaints of Democrats being signed up as Republicans in one of the county's most competitive legislative districts.

1. Oh. Orange County. That explains it.

The OC gave the world B1-Bob Dornan for corns sake. For a while there, he was the top Right-wing lunatic in Congress.

It’s a wonder how any district could elect someone who was nothing more than a red-baiting, gay-hating warmonger, to represent them, but for the OC that's pretty par for the course.

Their constituency helps a little though, having a disproportionate number of Catholics, military bases, wealthy suburbs and the highest rate of Vietnamese immigrants in America.

I do have to give the people of the O.C. a little credit though, they actually did vote him out in '96, to a Hispanic female Democrat. That was awfully cool.

3. Outrageous! I'm a Dem. living in OC, aka Repup. Central!
Good lord, it's hard enough to be a Democrat in OC.
I will never forget when I called Barbara Boxer's office
and her assistant asked me incredulously, " are there Democrats in OC ?"
Yes! And our numbers are growing!!
But this crap takes the prize in Repub. sleaziness!
They have enough Repubs in OC.

4. It's sad ,too, that the OC is soooooo emulated by people nationwide
Well, if you count teenage girls who watch The OC and Laguna Beach. When I think of the OC, I think of these shows, and then I think of the right-wing bastion.
