CNN: (Bolton says:) South Asia Nuclear Arms "Legitimate."
NEW YORK (Reuters) -- The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said on Wednesday the way India and Pakistan had obtained nuclear arms was legitimate, in contrast to Iran which he accused of pursuing atomic weapons in violation of its international undertakings.

Bolton claims that India and Pakistan never tried to trick the world into thinking they weren't really interested in nuclear weapons development. His talking point is that Iran is lying about its intentions.

Yeah. It's not the nukes. It's who's got their fingers crossed.

9. Like this....
Pakistan Nuclear Weapons - A Chronology

(courtesy of the Federation of American Scientists)

Read it all, but it won't take very long to realize that Bolton is COMPLETELY WRONG to say the way Pakistan acquired nukes was "legitimate". I mean, not just wrong, but bald-face LYING. Like he doesn't think anyone remembers anything prior to 2001.

Also note how the most egregious derelictions of non-nuclear proliferation duty occur between 1979 - 1990. That's Reagan and Bush I.

Conservative security on nuclear proliferation: Like tits on a bull.

5. Okay for India
Because they are our friends and they have access to the soft underbelly of our soon to be enemy China.

We hope?

But Pakistan? Which way will the wind blow them?

Iran? A few nukes in their hands might cause the whole region to pause for reflection?

The nuclear shell game. Will there be a winner? Will there be a loser?

Nobody knows.

7. So he's an idiot...
and a liar and obviously can't see that if there are 2 countries on this planet that don't need nuclear weapons, it IS India and Pakistan.

Jeez seems like only yesterday that Powell was dispatched to 'chill out' these two little dickins' who were at the one point arguing who had more nukes...

That's for the memories, John

8. This is the stupidest comment yet from these Neocon deadheads.
Bolton's pointing out Iran's ALLEGED program while neatly forgetting N. Korea SUCCEEDED in gaining nukes before BushCo noticed. And hey-oh, never mind Pakistan is still the happy hiding place for al Qaeda...Those nukes aren't TOO in danger of falling into the wrong hands.

Selective vision. Bolton must buy cheap eyewear.
