With decision making like this how could GM have gone wrong?

First of all Consumer Reports top 10 vehicles have exactly ZERO "US cars" included this year. NONE. I am sure that was the fault of those union types making the cars they were told to make not the concept and design guys upstairs.

Now guess what. General Motors' Annual 'ten' fashion show event in Hollywood, Calif. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006

See the slide show below

Lindsay Lohan
Anna Kournikova
Stacey Keibler
Eva Longoria
Alyssa Milano
Carmen Electra
Jenna Elfman and others.

I understand about sales and all but is this really money well spent? Is this really helping the corporate image? Does it matter?

7. This has been going on for decades now
And all of the American automakers engage in this sort of advertising. Is it money well spent:shrug: I'm sure that there are marketing studies out there concerning the effectivemess of these shows. But the sad thing is that under current corporate law, GM and others get to write off part of the expenses for this show as advertising, thus, indirectly we all get to pay for these little shows.

8. Since the mid90's
car companies have gotten away from spending money on the little economy models. That isn't the wealthy or at least willing to buy crowd that they are hoping to sell several cars to. Also they make much more on the upper level cars. You don't see ads for anything but the big mondo cars.

Toyota doesn't hardly advertise the Accord anymore except for short 15 second ads with Richard Dreyfus (long the voice of Toyota) just saying "The Honda Accord" no other reference is necessary.

9. There's a reason Toyota doesn't advertise the Accord
They don't make it. Honda does.
