Imus in the Morning was GREAT today!!!!!
Anyone else see it?? In a nutshell --

1. Joe Biden was on explaining exactly why the port deal should not go through. Said we need domestic control of assets like that especially these days when there is war. We've never treated all allies "the same," he said and for good reason. Biden referred to the "sophisticated" people who want to make this out as being "unfair" to UAE just not getting the point.

2. Imus relayed an incident between Bill Frist and Diedre (his wife), who was lobbying Capitol Hill on behalf of some kind of autistic research bill. Evidentally, Iman has gotten a little too far under Frist's skin, because Diedre reported during this meeting that out of the box Frist was VERRRY emotional (to the point of being bizarre) about his beef with Imus.

In response, Don is inviting Bill to call the show so they can work the problem out. As might be expected, Don gave Frist even more on-the-air jabs today about being a coward and not confronting him instead of his wife with the "problem." It was hilarious.

THIRD!!! AND THIS WAS THE FUNNIEST! David Gregory called in, evidentally a little soused or buzzed on something during his trip to India w/the President. Gregory spent most of the time on the phone giggling to himself, and talking about a list of Hindu words he had written down on a piece of paper (that he couldn't find) to share with Imus. He did manage to get the word "Namasta" out. Gregory called in about an hour later and put a little more effort into composing himself, but he was clearly still a bit under the influence.

Man it was a funny show (and informative). I think the REpublicans are in trouble.

9. Yup
and during his first call it was the first thing he said whilst giggling. Then he said that "Shu Kria" was thank you in Hindi. I wrote it down. Was really funny.

4. Ruh Roh! Frist pissed off the WRONG GUY!
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 09:32 AM by in_cog_ni_to
Imus has admitted on his show that when someone or something (a corporation) pisses him off, he USES his radio show to DESTROY that person or corportaion. He will never stop laying into Frist. I remember when Imus was having breathing problems in his studio because of the air pollution in there, EVERY DAY he would rag on his BOSSES about not doing anything about it. I wonder if they ever caved? I haven't watched Imus since he trashed Kerry during the campaign...even though he was voting for Kerry. he still had to trash him, almost daily.:(

6. Seems strange that an adult like Gregory should just now be

learning Namaste.

But, perhaps I'm wrong. I'm only in the kindegarden of knowledge judging at how uneducated I've been about the lengths some people have gone to to destroy the people of our nation and the predatory rule they've held on the people of other nations.

But it does appear as though Gregory is conflicted - for months now. Real propagandists don't keep asking honest questions at press conferences. Just kidding.

7. I can't stand Frist but Imus is a joke. They deserve each other
The few times I've tried to watch Imus I've been thoroughly repulsed. The cowboy hat, his big puffy hair and his giant ego- ugh.
Having said that, I am thrilled that Frist is not running to be my Senator again- he is equally repelling in different ways. Too bad Imus didn't take him on sooner.

8. I guess you missed the part where Imus
praised Santorum up one side and down the other. I was enjoying him until I heard that part and it made me ill. I had to turn him off. Anyone who thinks Rick Santorum is a great man is not someone I want to watch. Sorry.

10. He said he disagreed with Santorum's politics...

...but liked the guy. I guess that's possible.

11. I didn't hear that - sorry
I heard him call Santorum a 'great American' (which he is not) and a 'friend'.

So Imus is friends with a guy who took a dead baby in a jar home to show to its brothers and sisters. Those kids will be traumatized for life over that. No way could I call anyone who did that a friend. As much as Imus works and advocates for kids, it should be a no brainer for him as well.

Santorum is a sick human being, every bit as mentally disturbed as Bill Frist. But Imus likes him. Go figure . . . :eyes:

12. ..well....

I can't figure Imus out. I've also seen him tell RS, "I can't help it if you're crazy." So, I don't worry about it too much. Makes for good entertainment at any rate. :)
