Freeper Wants To Stone Adulterers To Death
Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 07:29 PM by cali
Oh those loving xian fweepers. This guy also wants to stone rape victims if they can't prove they've been raped. To ber fair, there were some objections to his proposals, but mostly he was met with deafening silence and he wasn't banned or reprimanded by management. Pretty whacky over there.

"Exactly. So if God's laws indicate that adulterers and rapists should be put to death, who am I to question Him? I'm on God's side, so yeah, I do agree with Him and His laws.

Just think about how many fewer adulterers and rapists we'd have if the whole community was required to turn out to stone him/her to death. Talk about a great incentive for doing what's right rather than succumbing to illicit bodily appetites. I doubt it would happen very often."

Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 08:13 PM by rockymountaindem
I attended a lecture by my Rabbi years ago in which he described the system that the Jewish community built up around laws that required the death penalty (there are only three). First of all, there was a need for multiple witnesses, so in order to be tried for adultery in the first place, one would have to be caught in the act by at least two other people. Secondly, adultery is defined in the OT as sleeping with the wife of another man, so technically a man sleeping with a single woman would not be a crime at all. Lastly, it was possible to fillabuster the court in a death penalty case so that the DP was hardly ever used at all.

anything with cloven hoof. Do fweepers have cloven hooves? Also, you can sell your daughter into slavery only if it's to a neighboring land; murder your children if they disobey; and the smell of burnt flesh is pleasing to the lord. Kill your neighbor if he labors on the Sabbath, but which Sabbath (Friday, Saturday or Sunday)? Oh, and I hear David was kept warm with more than one woman, that's okay. And, it seems human sacrifice is okay if god tells you to do it. Genocide is okay too if God instructs you to kill all living things in a city, like Jericho--the only question is it coming from God or man?

Of course, the bible is jampacked with adulterers, rapists, child molesters, and other holy purveyers of sexual morality - when they weren't busy slaughtering Philistines so they could whack off their foreskins to buy wives with. (1Samual 18:27).

You can't just pick and choose which prohibitions you want to obey. And those are the exact punishments proscribed. So if you're gonna get down on gays, gotta get down on adulterers, too. And kids who sass their parents - stone 'em like the Good Book says. And people who worship other gods - gotta wipe 'em out - to the last child and even animal.

Lovin' that Old Time Religion!

46. part and parcel of Dominionism, the "Christian reconstructionist" . . .
movement that's sweeping Fundieville these days . . .

Dominionism
http://www.religioustolerance.org/reconstr.htm

among the Dominionist beliefs are . . .

- The use of the death penalty would be greatly expanded, when the Hebrew Scriptures' laws are reapplied. People will be executed for adultery, blasphemy, heresy, homosexual behavior, idolatry, prostitution, evil sorcery (some translations say Witchcraft), etc. The Bible requires those found guilty of these "crimes" to be either stoned to death or burned alive. Reconstructionists are divided on the execution method to be used.

- A church or congregation which does not accept the Mosaic Law has another god before them, and is thus guilty of idolatry. That would be punishable by death. That would include all non-Christian religious organizations. At the present time, non-Christians total two-thirds of the human race.

- The status of women would be reduced to almost that of a slave as described in the Hebrew Scriptures. A woman would initially be considered the property of her father; after marriage, she would be considered the property of her husband.

- It would be logical to assume that the institution of slavery would be reintroduced, and regulated according to Biblical laws. Fathers could sell their daughters into slavery. Female slaves would retain that status for life. Slave owners would be allowed to physically abuse them, as long as the slaves lived for at least a day before dying of the beating.

- Polygyny and the keeping of concubines were permitted in the Old Testament. However, Reconstructionists generally believe in marriage between one man and one woman only. Any other sexual expression would be a capital crime. Those found guilty of engaging in same-sex, pre-marital or extra-marital sex would be executed.

- Legal abortions would be banished; those found to be responsible for abortions would be charged with murder and executed.

- more . . .
