Take Your Mind off *'s Terrible Poll Numbers
I think I may have early warning the RW's tactic to turn around *'s poll numbers. Yes, of course, it ties into "terror fear terror fear".

This is just my theory, but this total Fundy RWer I am still friends with (keep your friends close and your enemies closer -- ha ha) will occasionally email or IM me, feigning innocence as she catapults the latest talking point. She did this after "Justice Sunday" with a bunch of baloney I knew they were spewing about how bad the courts were -- things like that. Anyway, today, I get back from lunch and she IMs me with "Did you know that the US doesn't have the largest military? China and Russia both have bigger ones?"

I've already replied with how much more money the US spends on the military than everybody else, and she has terminated the conversation, however, it made me think that perhaps that will be the next way to scare the Murkin Sheeple into pledging their allegiance to BushCo and the Repubs. We are BEHIND in our military! The Russians are coming! The CHINESE are coming and they have more troops!! AHHHHHHHH! Vote Republican and we will sell out your children's education in order for them to fill the ranks so we can fight a big war, because we just don't have enough military stuff now! You can't trust the Dems to get our military back in shape and ... and .... The RUSSIANS are coming!! Hey, it worked for Reagan. They're just returning to their roots.

Just thought I'd pass it along. :)

1. Let her know that Bush** has been selling big chunks of the USofA to...
...China, as well as to the Arabian Sheiks.

3. Yeah, and how many BILLIONS come out of the budget
and go to other countries just to pay the interest on our loans. Fiscal responsibility. Pfft.

2. He...He..you may be right...
but there is a huge problem with this latest strategy....

They are cutting funding for the troops coming home.....
They are not honoring the promises they made to the troops about education etc.....
They continually extend the time our soldiers are deployed....

Every thing they have done has been against the soldiers.....

They are going to have to reinstate the draft to fill the ranks....and fill the ranks with repug children.....

I think these tactics have lost their effectiviness....

5. Those are good points.
I should write back and say, "Hey, I'm really worried about what you were saying about the US military. I'm thinking we can't wait -- we need to get rid of Bush by impeaching him before he destroys our military any more. We can't wait until he leaves office! The Russians are coming!!"

I am seriously have The Week from Heck as far as conversations with RWers go. This is the SECOND one I've had to post about and it's only Wednesday! Sigh. :)

Yup and it is only Wed......sigh :hi:

4. Also let her know that
Bush has done more to shrink the military than any other president (troops getting killed or wounded, not enough recruits to replace them, etc.).

6. demand details
You did, I hope, ask her just exactly what terms he was citing as evidence. Number of people under arms, defense expenditures (gross) defense expenditures as a percent of GDP, etc. I get a lot of that sort of spew and run commentary from various frightwing acquaintances of mine. I think the y realize just how thin and shallow the evidence is supporting their talking points and don't want to risk an extended dialog lest they be disabused of some of their delusions.
