BILKEY: Well, I think we should clarify a couple of things. First of all, we're a commercial enterprise of the government of Dubai. The government of Dubai has nothing to do with us, basically.
4. Yes the Government of Dubai has bought our ports ... I think if
this goes through then United States of America should own 6 of their ports...I'd like my tax dollars to go to productive stuff rather than destructive stuff in Iraq...
5. "Well, aside from owning the company, there's no connection.
And appointing the board of directors. That too. And the CEO regularly presents financial info to the minister because his approval is necessary for many matters. But aside from that, we just do what the government wants and there's no connection."
6. So why does Bush claim a strategic necessity, arguing UAE an ally?
If this deal were solely about being fair to a private co., Bush wouldn't be claiming national security and that UAE was an ally. I guess there's only a connection when Bush wants it.
