Bush wants to make this a Republican vs Democratic issue...
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 03:00 PM by kentuck
When it's really about America and whether we want or need the United Arab Emirates in charge of our ports? It's only about politics in so far as he wants to make it so. But it appears, those are the battle lines now being drawn. This is too important to let George Bush and Karl Rove turn it into a Republican vs Democratic issue. We need to see the facts. We need to know the players. We need to know what is in this for this Administration. Are they going to say this is for our "national security" - rather than against our national security? They have a deadline of March the 2nd that they must meet. Mr. Bush, stop playing politics with our country's security!

1. We need to expose the divisiness of the * cabal
Remember when he was running he claimed he was a "Uniter not a divider", we need to use this over and over again..

This is a security issue....

2. Most Republicans are against this as well
So I don't see that working too well.

3. It is interesting
Because if they end up backing down, than they want it to be "Republicans stood firm" and cut us out of the storyline altogether.

I do think genuinely they aren't all on the same page in this one, but after listening to Rush, I am much less certain that they will fold. Still could (and tomorrow afternoon would be a good time for it, obviously).

5. Although the right and left come to this table from different angles,
it seems pretty clear that there is nearly universal opposition to this idiotic idea.

For some, their motivation is racial, others are opposed due to the obvious crony/money ties to this deal, for others it is the concept of any foreign company/gov't running US ports, for others it's pure hatred of all things Bushie...whatever the reasons, 90+% of this country thinks this deal SUCKS!

He's finally the uniter!
