Secret Service agents say Cheney was drunk when he shot lawyer
A written report from Secret Service agents guarding Vice President Dick Cheney when he shot Texas lawyer Harry Whittington on a hunting outing two weeks ago says Cheney was "clearly inebriated" at the time of the shooting.
Agents observed several members of the hunting party, including the Vice President, consuming alcohol before and during the hunting expedition, the report notes, and Cheney exhibited "visible signs" of impairment, including slurred speech and erratic actions, the report said.

According to those who have read the report and talked with others present at the outing, Cheney was drunk when he gunned down his friend and the day-and-a-half delay in allowing Texas law enforcement officials on the ranch where the shooting occurred gave all members of the hunting party time to sober up.

We talked with a number of administration officials who are privy to inside information on the Vice President's shooting "accident" and all admit Secret Service agents and others saw Cheney consume far more than the "one beer' he claimed he drank at lunch earlier that day.

15. When has CHB "missed", and how often has that happened?....
If you're referring to the commentary CHB published about Clinton's alleged rapes, etc., that was qiote some time ago. Quite a few people were taken in by those stories, Democrats included.

Since the NeoCons took over, when has CHB posted information that was proven to be incorrect?

39. Well
the caveat is that none of their stuff has ever been confirmed by another source. It's just Them & Their sources. Basic journalistic principles demand that stories be "confirmed" by another source before being reported as Fact.

Who has confirmed CHB's stories?

Having said that, I immensely enjoy reading their columns for the sheer entertainment value. Just recognize them for what they are.

7. Like a career SS agent would commit job suicide by actually putting that
into a written report? He/she might state it to a supervisor in a back room, but no one would go public with that sort of statement. They work in the WH, they know everything has a political implication and decisions on how to handle spin are made many grades about their pay level.

If he shot one of them in the future, they would want a paper trail to back up the report on that day.

47. CHB's main talent
Their main talent is in picking exactly what we all suspect is true but can't substantiate. I've never heard any of their sensational stories corroborated by even one other sympathetic source. Until I read it somewhere else, I'm not going to believe it.

CHB makes stuff up in hope it will become true so they can claim "scoop"
Hey, Drudge managed to make ONE FUCKING STORY a career, right?

My best advice is to stop wasting your time with CHB, however, and spare us these (false) headlines here.

We're not going to get anywhere listening to CHB and their endless string of "inside sources" that not ONCE has panned out A SINGLE TIME.

In FACT, we should BOYCOTT CHB! If this story were TRUE, for example, CHB, with its record of fiction, would be cited as "proof" that the (corroborating) stories were false.

22. The only reason why this story from CHB even interests me is that
Cheney has a police record of DUI -twice

Plus he either was asked to leave Yale because of drinking or flunked out because drinking was a HUGE issue for him

He has never done a "Betty Ford" as far as I know but shouldn't he be asked?

Shouldn't he be asked why he would consume even 1 beer considering his medical and personal history with alcohol?

And while I take CHB with a large grain of salt this passes the smell test to me

34. Second to last paragraph....
Hrm...
Secret Service officials also took possession of all tests on Whittington's blood at the hospitals where he was treated for his wounds. When asked if a blood alcohol test had been performed on Whittington, the doctors who treated him at Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial in Corpus Christi or the hospital in Kingsville refused to answer. One admits privately he was ordered by the Secret Service to "never discuss the case with the press."

Hrm...

Can't someoen subpoena the results of the tests? Wouldn't this be legally related to the legal battle that Limp Balls was fighitng when he was convicted of doctor-shopping? Someone got shot- you'd figure that there would be more legal angles on getting this info...
