Is it just me, or is our government treating US (Americans) more and...
...more like the enemy? Is Al Qaeda the enemy, or are we? Given recent developments, I'm not sure which mindset BushCo has embraced. They spy on us, they ship American jobs overseas and subsidize the insanity with OUR tax dollars, they build camps to hold us and stage "terror drills" to figure out how to keep the protesting masses from disrupting their little party on the taxpayer dime, they spend $1.6 Billion of OUR tax dollars on propaganda to make us believe Bush is our savior... The list is endless, but it seems quite clear that BushCo has made Americans ENEMY #1.

1. It certainly seems that unless you have a republican party membership
and donate to the party you are 'under suspicion', not unlike Nazi party memberships were the only protection against the government of the time.

5. Exactly, perhaps yours is a better analogy than mine given the
current climate.

2. They certainly aren't operating with our best interests in mind.
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 12:58 PM by sparosnare
And they are not operating in accordance with the Constitution:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

What we have in power is a rogue government, bent on hijacking our country and taking away everything from its people. They are a parasite sucking us dry.

3. The repugs are putting the presumption of guilt on people...
then you have to "prove" you are not. They do that to take attention away from themselves.

6. You ever heard of the story of the "Trojan Horse"?
You know the one where Greeks leave a lovely present for the Trojans outside the city gates.
The gullible Trojans wheel the fancy horse right into the heart of the city. Then, when they're not looking during the night the enemy soldiers climb out.

If you substitute "compassionate conservatism" as the Trojan Horse, and the neocons/foreign interests as what's climbed out...

7. The terrorist have won!
With all the fear, spying and making laws to alleviate us of our civil liberties the bu$h regime has just allowed the terrorist that they claim they are fighting and keeping us safe from to win.
War over.

9. The gov't is supposed to work for US, not the other way around
The gov't is supposed to consist of several people representing the interests of a certain group, working together to carry out the will of the people. What we have today is a bunch of criminals drunk on power who see themselves as kings and us as subjects.

And yes, the attitude seems to be "you're either with the Republicans or with the terrorists, America, love Bush or leave it"

10. MBA schools in the early 1990s started to teach that the businessman's
competator was no longer their competator in the same business, but government, share-holders, consumers, along with the workers (again).

Why you see big oil working together. Why you see softwood lumber groups working together.
