8. Not necessarily
A woman who took a writing class from me wrote one of her papers about when she was in basic training in the army. She tripped during a training session and accidentally fired her weapon into the buttocks of another woman who was running in front of her!

And she went on to serve several years in the army!

2. LOL
Nice Mr. Hagel. LOL. It looks like everybody is getting in on that action. Mr. Leahy's statement is still one of my favorite's though.

"At least I didn't get what Whittington got" or something like that. Leahy was the one Cheney told to go fuck himself on the senate floor.

3. Hagel cracks me up
He's forever sticking it to them in public, I think because he flat out doesn't like them. Of course, he needs the Party funds for his Prez run, so he votes party line, and turns himself into just another RUBBERSTAMPER, but jeez, he takes a crack at the Bush neocons every chance he gets.

4. Maybe he's bitter
Remember Hagel was on the short list for Bush's VP list and the GOP officials wanted Cheney.

5. Seems repukes are trying to distance themselves from the Bush WH lately.
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 12:33 PM by Zenlitened
Let's not let them.

They own this shit, all of it -- every fuck-up, fiasco, debacle and disaster the bush administration has created is REPUBLICAN PROPERTY. Perpetrated in cahoots with a republican-controlled Congress.

And the voters ought to know it. Republicans cannot be trusted to govern. It's that simple.

11. Is Hagel reading DU?
Someone here dryly noted, immediately after the accident/incident:

"If cheney'd served in Vietnam, his aim would be better."

I've used that line several times lately, and want to thank whatever DUer first said it.
