Molly Ivins: The buck stops... where?
Again, the White House can't face up to a mistake

<snip>
Those of you who saw Cheney's interview with Jim Lehrer last week may recall the passage on Darfur that ended with this:

Lehrer: "It's still happening. There are now 2 million people homeless."

Cheney: "Still happening, correct."

Lehrer: "Hundreds of thousands of people have died, and -- so you're satisfied the U.S. is doing everything it can do?"

Cheney: "I am satisfied we're doing everything we can do."

His head still tilts over more to the right when he lies.

1. Molly's correct, i've noticed this myself.
I'd love to get a chance to play poker with this asshat, it's a very large tell. Same with Bu$h, ever notice how he smirks his lips when he's lying? It looks like he trying to whistle out the side of his mouth. Both our good tells, from a poker players perspective.

2. right. did you see DimSon saying how great he thought Cheney
did on his explanation of the accident? I can always tell when he is acting. It is so transparent. Like someone said, oh play this up real well, try to invoke sympathy, people will eat it up.

sickening !

Mathews actually had it right last night. He said something to the affect, the Cheney does whatever he wants and says anything he wants even if The Idiot is saying something totally contradictory.

3. Yes, it's easy to see when they're lying . . .
. . . Chimpster in particular. Wouldn't you love to play a few hands with some doofus with a coke-jaw?

;)

BTW, hell of a good avatar there!

5. When it tilts to the left, he's dissembling.
When he holds it straight up, he's prevaricating.

And when he closes his mouth, he's stonewalling.

So he has all his options covered (at least all the options he's familiar with).

6. I actually noticed his face turning red when he started lying
about the whole episode. His face was normal until he started trying to explain why they didn't notify the press.

7. It's his Neck Sneer.
Semiotically, exposing the neck is a sign of arrogance.

In exposing it, he dares another person to attack.

In displaying it, Sneer also shows he feels he has the position of superiority.

The guy's a nutjob.
