The 16 Feb 06 Edition of Most Brain Dead Letters To The Editor
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 08:39 PM by MrScorpio
Welcome to the Thursday, 16 Feb Edition of the Most Brain Dead Letter To The Editor

This is dedicated to the those wonderful people who inspire us all by not only being incredibly stupid but also display their stupidity for all of us to gaze and wonder upon, in the LTTE sections of today's newspapers.

I have point out that they really go out of their way to give us a piece of their mind.

And because of this, these folks are some of the most generous people in the world, because no matter how little they have, they're always willing to give.

Now as you all know, the biggest story this last week in the news was about the accidental shotgun shooting of a Bush crony by Dick Cheney, the VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This very fact and the shady aftermath has got the people a' talking. And they're asking a lot of questions like, how the FUCK did the VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA actually SHOOT A GUY WITH A SHOTGUN? We all deserve answers, a person with half a brain might think. Dick really fucked up this time, a person with half a brain might also think. And perhaps the fact the weird events that have occurred after the fact that the VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOT A GUY WITH A SHOTGUN might have a person with half a brain also think that there was a cover up.

Now normally, I throw in some editorial jabs, but I'm leaving this example of stupidity and downright Bushwhoring unscathed for all to see.

The commentary is coming later.

From today's issue of Detroit Free Press is a letter by Mr. Patrick Kent of Clinton Township, Michigan.

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060216/OPINION04/602160481/1072/OPINION

Enjoy.

I just can't understand the media's fascination with the accidental shooting of a friend by the vice president.

The hatred of this president and his administration has reached a new low that I would never have believed possible.

One supposed journalist actually called for the vice president's resignation. How sad and foolish.

Patrick Kent

Clinton Township

Well, Pat. Let me point this out; THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOT A GUY WITH A SHOTGUN!

How can you not get this through your thick skull? People are calling for his resignation because he's a crook and he's incompetent, not only that, he's THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and he SHOT A GUY WITH A SHOTGUN!

The only thing here that's "sad and foolish" is you, my friend for failing to understand the implication that THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOT A GUY WITH A SHOTGUN!

WAKE THE FUCK UP! You're from MICHIGAN, for God's sake... You should have better sense than this... Oh, you're from the 'Burbs... Never mind.

As always thanks, Patty, you are an inspiration to us all. :yourock:

Here's a toast to your your dead brain, Bushwhore. :toast:

1. Jeez, when I saw it was from Michigan, I was afraid it
might have been from one of my freeper cousins. Luckily, it wasn't. I hope that my relatives, hunters all, have the sense to understand why people are upset about this. Even the hunters here in Arkansas who are Bush apologists have become very quiet since they've found out the details of the hunt.

presidential hatred before now. The little tike evidently wasn't around for that evil Clinton and the well-deserved bashing he received. It makes me proud to be an American when a little fella like this scratches out a comment on current events. Good for you, Lil Patty!

Edit for another hug!

5. Here's one from Savannah that made me say "HUH?"
Just who believes in the 'absurd' anyway?

Several thoughts struck me after reading Gene Mesco's Feb. 4 letter ("Quotes illustrate divide between two world views"). How strong is Darwin's theory, anyway?

Although it's meant to be a joke, doesn't the line, "If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes around?" really say it all? Suffice it to say that Darwin's Theory isn't called Darwin's Law. Laws are conceded to be truth. Theories are just theories.

<snip>

I must give Mesco credit for hitting the nail on the head when he quotes Voltaire, however: "Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." What could be more true?

By 1973, the ultra-liberal feminists and the extreme left had managed to get just enough like-minded fools appointed to the Supreme Court. Then they managed to have them believe the ultimate absurdity, that an unborn child was nothing but a pawn in a game of "reproductive rights."

Safe in the cocoon of my "mythical beliefs," I can't help but hope that we finally have enough clear-minded individuals on the court to make that absurdity a thing of the past.

12. Even for Savannah...yeah that's weird.
The local paper usually has a "gem" of a LTTE a couple times a week, but that one really left me dumb-founded.

Political freedom no substitute for spirituality

Every war that the U.S. of A. has fought has been against spiritually lost people who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. When the war is over in Iraq, the people will still be lost. When it comes down to being saved, the bad outweighs the good. In heaven 10,000 years will be like one day, but in the lake of fire one day will be like 10,000 years. Think about it.

7. I posted my "brain-dead" letter elsewhere
but since you have a thread....

"Nothing -- object or signal -- crossing an international border has an expectation of privacy. People who oppose the monitoring of the international communications of potential terrorists are fools. These people are plotting to kill us and our nation. If that means that the occasional call from a European prostitute to his clients in the United States is monitored or the call of an exporter of purloined blonde underage girls to Saudi Arabia, so what? The physical safety of our citizens should come before the sensibilities of people who are afraid to proclaim their proclivities in the streets. Unlike the seizure of an object, copying and monitoring deprive nobody of the use or possession of a communication.

Grant Edison Hunter, my late father, served as a shore patrolman and pharmacist mate at Pearl Harbor and later on the USS Alaska during World War II.

As he fought in his youth against Hitler and Tojo, we must fight now against Iran, Islam, Mexico, the United Nations, the European Union, Greenpeace and the Democratic Party to preserve our free way of life. As he opposed Hitler and Tojo, we must oppose Sen. Hillary Clinton, Rep. Virginia Foxx, George Soros, Osama bin Laden, Sen. Barbara Boxer, Al Gore, Sen. Edward Kennedy, Sen. John Kerry, Rep. John Murtha and Rep. Nancy Pelosi. This requires comprehensive electronic monitoring of these enemies and their supporters.

-- Grant W. Hunter"

18. The really scary part is that this guy is
a LAWYER! A quick Google search shows that he's a member of the "Republican National Lawyers Association," although he's not listed in our local Yellow Pages. I do find that he contributed $350 to George Bush's campaign and calls himself a "lawyer/infobase developer, self-employed." I wonder what sort of "infobase" he's been developing. I thought about responding to his letter, but if he's "developing infobases," maybe I don't want to attract his attention. What a jerk.

I don't see how he could have passed Constitutional Law.

11. Re: Brokeback Mountain

'Mainstream' heads downstream

To the editor — Re: The Jan. 13 "On" article, "A reluctant revisiting of 'Brokeback,'" extolling "Brokeback Mountain," moviedom's latest promotion of homosexuality as A-OK. E. Annie Proulx, author of the story the movie is based on, tells what has happened to America: "There are a lot of people who see movies who do not read ... it used to be that writing and architecture were the main carriers, permanent carriers, of culture and civilization. Now you have to add film to that list because film is the vehicle of cultural transmission of our time. It would be insane to say otherwise, to say that the book it still the thing. It isn't."

Tragically, Proulx is correct. Film is a powerful medium — for good or ill. It's a long slippery slope from Rhett's scandalous "I don't give a damn" to today's obscenity/perversity/violence-laden films. Sliding down this slope is a generation (or two) of nonreaders — some can't read, some won't — encouraged toward, or not discouraged from, life staring at various sized screens.

What they see on big screens, TV, videotapes and "games" is the bone marrow of the godless/unfettered tolerance culture we seem bent on becoming. Americans are buying the idea that we must swim in the "mainstream" (new buzz word) or be tagged intolerant bigots unwilling to change. Tell you what, folks. Some things don't change, chief among them God's Word. He gives clear choices along with consequences — life and death, blessing and cursing. Swimming in today's "mainstream" gets you mucked up and drowned. Better believe it.

Movie's sick, sick, sick

To the editor — With all the awards the movie "Brokeback Mountain" has received, I decided to see it for myself. What a sick movie. I believe this is an attempt by the gay and lesbian community to tear down family values and it's OK for two homosexual men to leave their families, go up in the hills and make love to each other. Sick, sick, sick.

Without we the public stating our objections to such sick material, the next movie will be two women making love or two boys or two girls. Sick, sick, sick. I am surprised the churches of the Valley have not objected to this movie. To tear down family moral values with a movie like this is a horrible mistake. We all need to speak up and let the movie makers know we don't want to see any movies where the family is second rate and two sick homosexuals are the heroes.

How this movie can receive all the awards it has and have such a sick content is really something. I realize some people prefer same-sex lovers, but I like the military way of handling this. Don't ask, don't tell. If we let this pass without objecting, the next thing you know there won't be any families.
