4. Bob Ney could be replaced by a Democrat
his district was represented by Democrats as far back as I could remember-very blue collar; coal and steel were the biggest industries

I don't see why we couldn't win it again especially with Ohio being in the midst of a Repuke scandal themselves

5. Patience
November will come soon enough and we'll win the House then. Good things come to patient people, IMO.

6. If a repuke retires/steps down/is indicted, they probably just appoint
another corrupt repuke to replace him. I could be wrong. Wouldn't it be nice though? We could start investigation IMMEDIATELY.

11. From what I understand they do special elections
Like when Mean Jean got her seat. Of course, she'll only have it for another year, but that's neither here nor there.

7. If you mean early by
before the 2006 elections, I doubt it. The process will take awhile. Now the regular elections is where the repugs have their asses handed to them.:bounce:  :woohoo:   :)

10. Charlie Cook on CSpan about taking back the senate: Which states
can/must we take?

He says PA (Santorum)
RI (Chaffee)
Ohio (DeWine) (I don't know the spellings)
Montana (Burns: a.k.a. Abramoff pilferboy)
Tenn (Ford is our guy over 3 conservatives)

plus either
Missouri or
Arizona

He says the chances of getting 5 are about 15% if Bush's approval is in the low 40's, and goes up to 25% if he's in the 30's.

But he also says we don't need a majority for control, because often the GOP moderates cross party lines, so, he thinks both the house and senate will hold a slight majority for the next several years, but that the gap will narrow, leaving neither party with true control. That will lead to more drift, like we have right now.

Not a great feeling: Drifting into Iran would'nt be good.

This guy sounded like he knew what he was saying and wasn't a rabid supporter of either party.

He writes the Cook Political Report.

13. Missouri - Talent is in an uphill race to keep his seat
He has an aggressive challenger - Claire McCaskill. She is awesome, from KC.

12. Governors don't appoint replacement house members
Special elections are required to be held ASAP. Of course when a rep resigns on corruption charges it will be easier for a dem to pick up that open seat.
