I'm watching "The Way We Were" right now

on TCM right now. Wow! The last time I saw this movie was in the theater and I was sleeping on my mom's lap. I highly suggest everyone rent it. It's much, much more than a love story.

Katie: "What about the Bill of Rights?!? What about free speech?!? I'm standing up for MY rights Hubble!!"

Hubble: "Free Speech?!? Bill of Rights?!?! There is no Bill of Rights, there is no free speech in this country--THERE NEVER WAS!!"

Wiretapping, commie-baiting, freedom of speech, it's all there, and a gorgeous Babs and Redford to boot.

1. "Your girl is lovely Hubble..."

I love that scene and that movie. I even loved it when they paid homage to it in "Sex and the City".

You're right though, that is a movie that everyone should see. The Character of Hubble really typifies most of the Apathetic Americans I see. Hubble knows that Katie is right.. Katie is his concience... but he doesn't see an advantage to fighting back - it's easier to sit back and give up than make a scene.
