There is a corporate seat waiting for him. Perhaps even on the board of the coveted Carlyle Group, but I doubt it, that seat is being held for Tony Blair. Right beside his friend John Major.

Perhaps the CEO of Kellogg, Brown, and Root will all of a sudden "need to spend more time with my family" and relinquish his place to Sir Abramoff of the Court of Bush.

No matter how many republicans are wrapped up in this, one dem, that's all it takes for the Republicans to spin this as a bi-partisan scandal.

1. It IS a bipartisan scandal

with 3 Congressmen on the Dem side of the aisle on the take from Abramoff clients, although not from the Don, hisownself. Reid is one of them, and I think they may be able to make a case for a quid pro quo arrangement with one of Abramoff's clients. Reid did vote accordlingly.

I would sincerely hope that this scandal does manage to root out corrupt SOBs on both sides of the aisle. Our corrupt SOBs aren't as numerous as theirs, but they are easily as expendable.

Doesn't even matter whether Abramoff names somebody or not. The right put it out there, the media reported it, McLellan reports what the media reports, and then the left takes it from there. As a result, I don't expect this to be any more damaging than anything else that's happened. Just a good year for an outsider to run for Congress, won't matter which party though. Hell we could lose seats, I wouldn't be a bit surprised.
