What happened and when in the Cheney shooting incident

4 p.m.: Vice President Cheney begins an afternoon quail hunt with four other hunters on the private Armstrong Ranch in south Texas. They had been hunting earlier in the day, but took a break for lunch.

6:30 p.m.: Cheney accidentally shoots fellow hunter Harry Whittington while aiming for a bird. Secret Service agents and medical personnel with Cheney tend to wounds on Whittington’s face, neck and chest.

While aiming for a quail, Cheney accidentally shoots fellow hunter Harry Whittington, striking him in the face, neck and chest with numerous pellets of birdshot. Medical staff, Secret Service agents and members of the hunting party administer first aid.

9. Amazing that the putz finally took RESPONSIBILITY

"It was not Harry's fault," Cheney told Fox in excerpts released before the full interview is aired Wednesday. "You can't blame anybody else. I'm the guy who pulled the trigger and shot my friend."
