9. Somebody had asked in the Lounge...
...so I volunteered to take a poll.

No point beyond curiosity really.

3. I voted West Coast, but I wish you'd put Pacific Northwest
which is quite different from Southern California.

Also, you should have tried to distinguish the Great Lakes region - very different from Kansas, yet they are all lumped togther in "Midwest".

28. I agree with that...
I had to put Alaska, Hawaii or other territory, although the last time I checked, Alaska and Hawaii are states. I would have called Alaska Pacific Northwest.

11. I don't even know what info mining is...
...but it sounds like something that people who do it could already do by looking at our IPs or whatever, right?

18. This idea originated in the Lounge.
However, I thought it would be a more accurate reading if taken in GD.

13. Brain Fart.
I changed it to "mid atlantic" I would like to have put all the other regions people have mentioned but there are a few too many. I put Texas alone because it is distinctly different culturally from the rest of the South, is an enormous geographical area, and has a large population.

Unfortunately, it's hard to please everyone.

15. The Northeast is bigger
New England is only six states--MA, NH, VT, ME, CT, and RI. NY is in the northeast, but is not a New England state!

PA could be considered northeast, but then some might call it mid-Atlantic, too....

14. We certainly have a lot of Southerners here.
Maybe DU keeps them sane and lets them know they are not alone.

I live in a very red part of a blue state, and DU does that for me.

22. There's a lot of truth to that.
It also helps DU see that not everyone in Texas or any other 'red' state/area is all bad, like some suggest from time to time. In fact, just yesterday we had a Dem win a seat in the TX legislature after defeating a repub in a district gerrymandered by BugManDelay's redistricting project. She won by 58%!

No, all is not lost.

I didn't think there were more than 12 people that had ever heard of it and definitely NOBODY moving there.
The worlds biggest rock pile. Right next to Granite.

Wow, brings back memories.......

Enjoy.
