7. Yes - Cheney cuts femoral artery of dinner guest while carving a
quail at WH dinner party. Mr.Cheney was startled by the guest who was unexpectedly sitting in his assigned seat at the party. The vice president mistook the sitting guest as the quail being served for dinner and executed a sophisticated carving maneuver with a $400 piece of German cutlery.

The dinner party being held at the WH adjourned for nearly an hour while table linens and carpets were changed and cleaned. Meanwhile, the guest was rushed off to a Miami Florida emergency room. The Florida hospital has an emergency staff experienced in treating dinner guests carved by sitting vice presidents at WH dinner parties.

Asked why the police were only informed about the incident by one of the WH kitchen staff more than 20 hours after the guest was injured, the vice presidential staff said that their "Immediate concern after the accident was for the well being of the guest. Once the guest had been sent off to the Miami hospital the veep and his staff went back to attending to the needs of the American people. Calling the police just sort of fell through the cracks."
