How did Cheney accidentally shoot Whittington?
It was day light and this was an event involving guns. When one hunts for birds they usually aim the gun towards the sky and fire. Did Whittington grow wings and fly into the sky and accidentally get shot? :sarcasm:. Or did Cheney have such bad aim that instead of aiming for the sky he fired at ground level? The latter is the only scenario that is plausible. What caused Cheney to have such a failure of vision and perspective? Is his vision failing causing this error or is he covering something up, thus the delay in talking to the police.

1. It doesn't matter
As long as Cheney declares Whittington an "enemy combatant" he can shoot him in the face all day long.

And he'll just tell the law to go F*ck themselves.

2. The type of bird hunting is
Dickie was doing is done at ground level. The bird starts out in the brush and then flies out just above ground level.

3. No, quail don't fly high. The roost in the brush, and when they fly up
when rousted, then don't fly very high.

How did Cheney do this? He was irresponsible, stupid, and was paying total attention to the bird he was following with his gun instead of THINKING about what else might be in his line of fire.

5. You have obviously never hunted upland game. Cheney shot
without knowing where everyone he was hunting with was, which is absolutely stupid.

10. Exactly. He forget the number 1 rule of hunting
never shoot until you are sure of what you are shooting at. (Goes along with rule #2 which is something along the line of don't shoot people)

7. What I want to know is, how did the Secret Service let an old guy with a
rifle in his hand separate from the hunting party, get out of view, and then come back and "surprise" Cheney?

I just don't see how that could happen. If you were a Secret Service agent or supervisor, in charge of protecting the V-P, you just wouldn't let that happen. It's crazy. The story stinks to high heaven.

11. I'm tellin' ya.........
It was straight out of a "Brokeback Mountain," only gone wrong.

Cheney put the move on Whittington. Whittington rebuffed him.

So, Cheney shot him.

Hell hath no fury like a fat fuck scorned.

I'm tellin' ya ................

20. How Do We Know It Was Accidental?
Edited on Tue Feb-14-06 10:36 PM by Southpawkicker
The Armstrong woman "eyewitness" who saw the cardiac specialists running and thought Cheney had a heart attack, but claims she witnessed the whole thing, but didn't put 2 and 2 together: Cheney shoots man, man falls down, Medical crew helps him.

She's lying out her ass

they didn't report it for hours

who the hell knows what really happened out there, we won't ever know

edit:

this is my 1000th post!

21. Trigger happy
and hammered is a recipe for just such an "accident."

From what I know of these "hunting" parties, drinking is part of the fun. Kick back a few and go kill something. What fun!
