Better buck up and start figuring out how this guy is going to win.

7. He needs to do okay in SW Ohio.
the bulk of the D voters and the voters generally are in NE Ohio. Bringing them out en mass will do better for the D's chances than tilting at windmills in Cincinatti where, I might add, Hackett lost once before. Neither candidate can win in SW OH. The difference is that Sherrod does not have to.

15. Way to demonstrate your ignorance.
Brown is a liberal fighter who's been at the forefront of fighting for liberal/progressive causes during his years in Congress. Check out his record at the ADA'a Project Vote Smart.

3. Thank you, more people need to know!
The Hackett outrage is short-sighted.

4. All I know is ...
... Sherrod has never had anything good to say about either Bush or the Rs. The way he describes them in stump speeches, one gets the impression that they are a bunch of thugs and crooks.

9. I am. I've known him for awhile.
If this race is winnable, Sherrod is the candidate to do it. He has the experience and the money to fight the DeWine smear machine. Frankly, Hackett blew it when he said that everyone who voted for Issue 1 should be ashamed of themselves. He may be right, but that still amounts to nearly 3/4 of the electorate.

12. He's my Congressman
and I support him 100%. It's right that Hackett should mature into the job by serving in the House. You won't be disappointed by Sherrod.

16. The Fact You Ask Is The Problem
Sherrod Brown didn't just show up yesterday...or force his way into this race. He announced his candidacy before Hackett did and had already set up a statewide organization with far greater reach and resources than Hackett did...and this was before most people here on DU not only knew who Brown was, but even Hackett.

While I financially supported Hackett last year, I saw he was having troubles almost from the moment he announced his candidacy. Look back on the dairies in Dailykos or any other site that has user diaries...there's plenty there to show how things got to the point they did.

Also, while you're there...study up on Sherrod Brown and his background. He's only been elected to Congress several times and has been a strong and reliable Progressive vote. I'd sure prefer him to another 6 years of DeWine.

Hackett became the internet darling...but he was untested. The goal here is to retake the House and Senate and to have the best candidates in place who can do that. Fortunately, the corporate media is too absorbed with all the booosh scandals today.

18. As an Ohioan I can tell you that
Sherrod is not a bad guy by any stretch of the imagination. He has more exp. than Hackett and has taken his licks in the political world and is well known in Ohio, but I really kind of ponder if this tactic will work. Hackett has the whole military background to him. Which is something to throw in the pubs faces...unless they swiftboat him.
