Maybe We Should Just Do Ourselves In
The human race is the biggest mistake in all of evolution. We are wrecking everthing.

This world would be a lot better off if we just all drank cool aid and let some new and better form evolve.

We are just the worse form of life in the universe.

16. that was a disgusting story...
but that segment of humankind is what needs to evolve. I can not, will not believe that that is anything other than a sad minority of humans that would do such a thing. Like those who abuse their children/spouse etc., it is up to us to step in and isolate these monsters.

4. But does Nature make mistakes?
I don't think we really understand the workings of Nature-the bigger picture of WHY things happen. From what I have observed, however, I find that Nature takes care of itself, in its own way, in its own time. Hope you are able to take time and walk in the woods, or by a beach, or hike up a mountain, and just be with nature.

6. Nature does take care of Mistakes
I don't know if they are "mistakes" but they just wipe themselves out and the world goes on. I figure that is what will happen to us. A few billion years from know a better sort of species will evolve.

life will still go on.

our great accomplishment may be making a misery of what could have been paradise.

7. I don't think we were ever capable of creating paradise
We seem only capble of destroying everything we touch.

It's sad but true. We are the biggest mistake of them all.

20. I have been to paradise
and have experienced heaven on earth. It's not exactly the way it is often depicted, but it is real-far more real than daily existance. Once you have been there, your outlook changes, and you rest in the thought that something far greater than your own ego is at work.

8. Just wait one year and see if you feel the same
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 10:07 AM by billybob537
All the signs point to a year of great change.
The other shoe is about to drop, and all the neoCON scum are starting to look for the best deal from the prosecuters.
This should make for a feeding frenzy of phenomanal proportions.
Ending in a climax of incarceration previously unheard of.
Pending: Rove inditment, you wouldn't want to miss that?
: Plame leaker?
: Spygate?
: Delay/Abramoff?
: Frist/ insider trading?
: Ney/Abramoff?
The Abramoff deal to be anounced soon will be the alarm bell for the cover your ass revolution.
We are the solution when we get sick of being used by the criminal scum Badministration we will change things.

9. Well, that's true. Next year should be pretty interesting from a
political point of view.

How can anyone believe that mankind was made in the image of God. What kind of a monster does that make God?

I think we should have a reverse Rapture. All the good people survive and the rest are simply destroyed. Wouldn't that be an interesting turn of events.

Call me Cassandra if you will, however that Duck and Cover routine drilled into us a schoolchildren may find some practical application in the weeks to come! :tinfoilhat:

Mankind IS the image, however the power has been usurped by Religion and runamok Capitalism which project their own power-hungry egomonster image onto Her, Him, It, That Which Is, Whatever...

How would you define "good" in your reverse Rapture? Just curious.

11. If nothing happens with those "hot" items, then the spiral of depression
will deepen.

I'm not foolish enough to believe that Bush, et al, will go down on all the counts, but I'm cynical enough to believe he can escape them all.

And voting on Diebold machines in 2006 doesn't help my confidence any.

13. I think you're right...
The next year will be a wild ride for the country. America is long overdue in the good news department, but I think it's about to change for the better too. The next quarter I believe the doo-doo will hit the fan in old DC. We won't want to miss the show IMHO!

14. Wow
A climax of incarceration previously unheard of? The wording of that sentence almost sounds good enough to make me an optimist.

So all the crap that humans have done, most of which has been done apparently only since the Bush adminsitration came to be, to make the poster create this thread, will be solved by the end of 2006?

Your ideas intrigue me, and I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter. I'd love to find out where you get that optimism.

But we probably won't last all that long. The dinosaurs were around for millions of years. We will be lucky if we make another hundred. That's how smart we are.

bush is nature's way of saying 'something's wrong'
nature's way of saying it in a song
(the song is the guards' marching song from 'the wizard of oz')!

19. Those wrecking it want us to do that. BTW, here's the problem afoot:
If we did "do ourselves in", it spares them peak oil and environmental chaos. Neat and easy. No fuss. No muss. Just scare the people with lots of calamities and scares, and ramp up prices on necessities. (the very stuff we all complain about in GD.)

Humanity's problem has been that of uncontrolled population expansion. I don't know where it started, or who thought there wouldn't be any associated problems, but if I could time travel, I'd go back to the idiot who said there would be no problems and show him what would happen.

Control the quantity, and the resource problems diminish.

The trouble is, nobody controlled it before so it must be controlled now.

As I keep saying, live life and be happy while you can. We are pawns in their game and to fight back is futile, to say the very least. (given torture vs bird flu, I'll take the latter - thanks all the same.)

25. The problem is
that every species will produce as many offspring as it can. In nature, plagues, predation, even cannibalism, limit how far the population can grow. Something will limit it when the food runs out.

So far, mankind has been relatively successful in minimizing the natural order of massive deaths to readjust the balance. There have been some unpleasant side effects along the way, sure. But most people would ask, "What's more unpleasant than death?"

Will mankind be able to do so forever? Highly doubtful. The time may come when the human population is massively and suddenly reduced. Will we all be happy then?

Somehow, I doubt it.

I'm not trying to make any particular point here, except to say what is going on now, what has always been going on, is the competition inherent in living. We're not worse than other species; we just have an awareness of what we are doing.
