Muhammad cartoon debacle: It's got black op written all over it.
Anybody else feel this? Danish and American special operation forces have had a long standing special relationship since the Afghanistan invasion. This whole thing stinks of a "Operation Mockingbird" type scenario. The cartoons came out in September, why so long til the protests? The Bush misadministration claims Muslim clerics have been using the cartoons to foment hatred of the west. Couldn't they just as easily been used by psychological operations personnel to create a hostile atmosphere so that the U.S. news agencies have something to point at as a tangible enemy in the so called "War on Terror"? Foxnews has been using the footage of Muslims burning Danish flags under the banner of the "War on Terror" How protests equate to the so called "War on Terror" is beyond me and is a complete misreprsentation of the truth, which is unsurprising from Faux.

2. Actually, no.
Do you have any idea how many people would have to keep a secret like this? It's impossible to keep a secret on something like this because everyone is looking for that opportunity to write a book about being on the inside of whatever-the-fuck they are at.

21. Or planning to invade Iraq from your very first Security Council meeting.
Who knows, someone big, like a secretary might publish a book. Or maybe your point man on terrorism would speak up. Or maybe an Ambassador somewhere would speak up when you were selling what he knew from his own experience to be lies.

There are no consequences here. Every leaker is smeared, glued back together and smeared again.

8. Even so, it doesnt excuse the reaction to them.
I don't care if Hitler himself was resurrected and drew the cartoons using paper and crayons provided from Bush's playset, there is no reason to kill people and burn buildings over a drawing.

14. and has it occurred to you
that some of those "crazy assholes" are being employed to act like crazy assholes? Not that there aren't people who would genuinely be that outraged with minimal prodding, but the phrase "agent provocateur" exists for a reason.

19. You know thats a possibility

But why bother with faking a bunch of silly cartoons, and then have a bunch of fake violence to react to it...when you can just hire the fake violence to begin with?

in Iraqi papers nothing would surprise me. They have loads of money to pay people like the Danes to do their bidding.

15. neoliberals drove publication
Merete Eldrup, managing editor of the Jyllands Group which owns Jyllands Posten, is married to Anders Eldrup, a long-time attendee of Bilderberg Group meetings.

Flemming Rose, the editor who arranged the cartoon contest and published the cartoons, previously had contacts with Daniel Pipes, renowned semifascist Russian political neocon currently operating out of Philly.

Beyond that, Jyllands Posten apparently has a longstanding history of being a mouthpiece for fascist neoliberal pronouncements and the hacks who make them.

This is actually a better outcome than what you propose, in that here it's just the same old shit from the same old usual suspects, proper economically liberal polite society, who again activated the buttspelunking hotline and figured out another piece of their renowned cleverness to infuse new turgidity and vigor into the malingering clash of civilizations.

Politically conservative, economically liberal, we know what the source of our problems is.

17. There is no such thing as raadical Islamist terrorism
It's all BushCo!

:eyes:

There are lunatics out thhere other than Bush. Bush is clearly EXPLOITING the situation, but he isn't God. He is however using this as propaganda against Syria and Iran. There is clearly a lot of anger and hosttility to the West in the Islamic world. It's not all Muslims, and it's not even most, but there is a significant and very vocal and violent minority out there.

18. I totally agree, this is a Neo-con double bluff psy-op!!
I heard from this guy who has a cousin who has a step brother who works in Area 54! He said that The NSA, MI-5, MI-6, MI-6.7, the Trilateral commission, the WTO and the world bank are all in it together. Using technology created by Nazi scientists in Vietnam. What they do is this, They act as "agent provocateurs" with various Insults to Islam like the cartoons and the like, THEN they Have a special Network of satelites that constantly orbit the globe. Then They beam a Electro-magnetic energy wave At 645 MHZ into all the Islamic lands. This causes high concentrations of Meta-Hulkatopin 5,9,7 (a brain chemical responsable for rage) to build up in the brain. Then They have double agents, who are nothing more than FBI people who just got back from Florida with a real nice tan, Pose as Imams and try to stir things up! These Neo-cons will stop at nothing! Then the poor, ignorant oppressed people begin to rage against their will!   They suddenly boxes appear along protests routes, filled with lighter fluid, danish and Isreali flags, Signs that say in Broken English "all your women are belong to us" and a map to the nearest western embassy. These CIA are clever oh so clever. To turn peaceful oppressed Muslims into rabid raving lunatics can only be the work of evil genius'. I predict tomorrow, Friday (islamic holy day), That they will turn on ALL the sattelites at once mark my words...................

22. Black ops alright
By Osama. What could be more perfect from his perspective? It riles up and unites the Muslim masses He even got the extra bonus of the West continuing to exascerbate the situation by re-publishing the original offenses. He gets to pit free speech vs. blasphemy.

Not that I hold much stock in the above but its just as likely as what you posted.

That all said the fact that Fox is using footage of Muslims burning flags is no way surprsing and is more likely a case of taking advantage of a situation. Of course I could suppose the same in my above scenario, that radical Muslim groups are taking advantage to show how the West is so unclean and hateful of Islam.
