So, February is Black History Month......
Mrs King left us recently. We lost Ray Charles and Ossie Davis last year.

Who else have we lost? And when is Tavis Smiley's State of the Black Community Forum? CSpan usually covers it, but I haven't heard yet any announcements there.

History Channel _did_ run Glory last weekend. Surpising since they said little about MLK during January. What else is the Corporate Media doing to celebrate Black History Month? MSNBC and and CNN have not mentioned much about African Americans in History, like they occassionally do...

4. But he did say because every month is black history month. American
history is black history and vice versa, if I recall his sentiments correctly.

6. There was a discussion panel on the life of Mrs. King the other night
on the History Channel. The little I caught of it was *very* good. I'm hoping they are going to repeat it.

9. History Channel - Black History Month schedule

I guess we need to email them to repeat certain shows. I am sick of Hitler, and these idiot shows like Modern Marvels and Mail Call.

I don't know about the MSM, but my local (Atlanta) Public Radio station always has "Black History Month" radio specials in February. They had a good one last night, hosted by Danny Glover I think was called "Imagining York" about the "Man servant" who went West with Lewis and Clark.

There was also a lady who was the first black woman in congress but I don't recall her name.

edit to add:
Lou Rawls passed on in 2006, all the others were in 2005.
