"U.S. Initiates Legal Processes Against Christian Group"
"NEW YORK - February 7 - Seven individuals from Witness Against Torture, a group protesting the denial of rights to prisoners at the U.S. Naval Base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, were served papers by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) last week. The group of twenty-four U.S. Christians marched over 60 miles to the Naval Base in an attempt to practice the Christian act of prisoner visitation. The group camped and fasted for four days at the gate of the militarized zone while awaiting access to the base."

2. And I thought Orwell was just another sci fi writer back in the day.
Who knew? I just dutifully wrote my book report, and that was like 1967...

3. The "right" kind of Christians would be pro-torture.

6. These are the only kind of Christians who truly get persecuted.
The *-supporting, fundy kind have persecution complexes without the real persecution. Ain't it a scream?

:grr:

7. Good for them! These people are heroes.
