What the King family thought about the politics....
From the horses mouth folks. This is some of what Bernice King herself said in her eulogy. I don't think the family minded one damned bit about what was said by Carter, Clinton, Lowry, etc. I think Their views were the same as the family's. I also think that those trying to make an issue of the comments are out of line.

Here's some of what Bernice King said in the Eulogy: http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060208/NEWS/602080369/1006

"The Rev. Bernice King, the daughter who was pictured in her mother's lap during her father's funeral, delivered the eulogy. Local television and radio stations broadcast the entire service.

Bernice King, a co-pastor of New Birth Missionary, compared the ovarian cancer that led to her mother's death to the "materialism ... greed, elitism, arrogance, militarism, poverty" and racism that is overtaking the nation.

"We are not reproducing anything because a cancer is eating away at us," she said.

Later, in the activist style that characterized her parents, she preached that her mother died seeking alternative care at a hospital in Mexico because conventional medicine was not working, in the same way that conventional ways of healing the world's problems, through threats and military action, are not working, she said

In her conclusion, she called her mother a spiritual pioneer who built Atlanta's Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in her father's memory against the wishes of his colleagues at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference "who told her to stay at home and raise her children." "

"Unconventional Wisdom" to the president... all the "Conventional" methods weren't working (Not that this will work either).

5. I just find it amazing.....
That people are saying it was not the time or place for politics. It was the perfect time and place. I guess the Republicans just figured that once Coretta died that everyone would sit down and shut up. Did they honestly think that if Bush waded into Liberal Territory and was a captive audience that the truth wasn't going to be slapped upside his fat empty head?
