My absolute worst fear and nightmare about this misadministration
Buckaroo Bushai gets impeached over the wiretaps, Cheney becomes President, McCain Vice President. Cheney does not seek re-election, McCain becomes de-facto candidate, the Republicants win with Giuliani as VP and we sit here scratching our heads again.

I am so very afraid of these people now. :scared: :scared: :scared:

2. *that's* your worst fear with these guys?
Sorry, but I've got to say that sounds pretty darn moderate compared to what I think these guys are capable of. First of all, I don't like McCain, but he's not COMPLETELY insane so they could never have him for president. Secondly, any scenario that does not involve new wars, things exploding, and shit hitting fans looks okay right about now, with this lot in the WH! ;)

5. perhaps insane enough

I am more worried about Congress than 1600 PA. That looks like a big uphill battle too.

6. Yeah, makes sense to be more worried about congress now.
But say what they will about McCain (I didn't know he planned on invading Iraq) I still think he's less insane, if only for his co-operative work with democratic senators and condemnation of torture.

9. The night terrors will increase if my scenario occurs
And the endless wars going back to the Dark Ages will loom again. Unless we stop them in November, and break the cycle in 2008, we're doomed. These bastards are gleefully working on new mini nukes, and will use them on Brown people to enrich themselves and try to bring about "the end times".

Iran is not the threat, never was. China is the threat, because if they pull the paper on America, there will be no need to go to war. We will become what China was.

3. if impeachment happens, Cheney should be a defendant
Can't VP's be impeached too? I'm not entirely sure, but I think so.

4. I don't even think it would take that scenerio for McCain to win in 2008.
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 04:01 AM by Skarbrowe

I know, I know. That's not the attitude to have. Geez, McCain was slimey on Tweety last night. I swore and swore again to myself that I would not watch Tweety again, but I wanted to see what was going on about the Coretta Scott King funeral. I was gone all day and missed all the excitement. They started off with this e-mail skirmish between McCain and Obama. I've listened to this three times now and I'm still not clear what happened.

Anyway, it was the first time that McCain actually gave me the creeps. He appeared awfully confident. I suppose he was promised the nomination by Buchco when he was kissing up to him during the campaign 2004. I really do think McCain is itching to run against Hillary.

I have always thought deep in my heart that Hillary would not run. Now, I'm not so sure.

I do see your point of having McCain already place in the VP slot running up to 2008 and that would give him an even bigger push to win.

We're still 2 1/2 years out or so and many things can happen by then, but it sure looks like McCain is definite about running.

Also, if I don't get some good news, by good news I mean at least ONE THING going our way in the next few months, I will be convinced the take over has been complete.

Sounds pessimistic and it is, but I still plan on voting and working for any Democratic candidate.

8. My WORST fear is that there is a nuclear attack on American soil and
then Congress passes a bill (you know, one of those 'patriotic' ones) that:

1. Institutes Federal Martial Law
2. "Temporarily" suspends 2 term limit for Bush's Presidency (Commander-in-Chief'ency)
3. Suspends the Presidential elections indefinitely (you know, until the "war on terror" is over)
4. Orwell roles over in his grave.

10. Case of Connecticut
The (R) governor was unpopular and corrupt as hell. It's a blue state, and if we had just let him languish in office he likely would have likely been replaced by a Democrat (even assuming he does not run again). But no, he was forced to resign, only to be replaced by Jodi Rell, a wishy washy northeastern Republican. Now she's the most popular governor in the country and is a shoe-in for election this year.

12. A slightly different scenario
What if Cheney chose Condi Rice as his VP?

I agree that GWB richly deserves impeachment, but the Repubs are like the heads of the hydra.
