Enjoy your breakfast, Sir.
Naming the dead
The family of Lance Corporal Allan Douglas, the 99th British soldier to die in Iraq, joined a vigil in Aberdeen last week to mark the death of the 100th British soldier.
Allan Douglas’s sister Donna (centre) and mother Diane (right) took part in the ceremony, organised by Military Families Against War, just two days after Allan Douglas was killed.
They were joined by Maureen Forbes (left), mother of Ryan Forbes, a 22 year old currently serving with the Highlanders in Iraq. She attended the vigil with her husband, who is a veteran of the Paratroop Regiment, and her daughter in law Hannah Forbes, who is married to Ryan.
Mr Forbes recently told the Aberdeen Press and Journal, “Why should they be there, risking their lives fighting George Bush’s war and defending the oil and business interests of rich American companies?”
