"It's going to have to get a lot worse before it gets better"
Nader has been right on on just about everything he said and I think especially this quote.

4. Yep. I wish Democrats would stop attacking the messenger
Rakph Nader and his campaigns were canaries in the coal mine.

Instead of getting mad at the canary and trying to club him into submission, I wish the Democrats would actually look for the source of the gas that is causing the canaries to sing in the first place.

6. I'd be curious to know if Nader...
thinks that the people of New Orleans, 2,500 soldiers, 100,000 Iraqi's, and women being denied the right to choose by a stacked Supreme Court were worth it to prove that point.

And no, I'm not saying any of those were Nader's fault. Just that I'd gladly accept "not worse" over "better" if it meant any of of those things not happening.

7. The votes for Nader were Gore's to lose
Even Al Gore admits his mistakes in trying to win over people that he knows now will never vote democrat. That's the same mistake the party is still making now. Worrying more about getting a few more conservatives to vote for them while chasing away tens of thousands of their loyal voters who want a liberal. Spending a dollar to save a dime in my opinion.

Democrats need to act like democrats and worry about democrats instead of worrying and pretending to be just like the conservatives so they can get two or three more conservative votes. They're not fooling anybody and they look pretty stupid doing it in the meantime.
Again, just my opinion.

8. The Nader voters I know (and there were many)
were just as unlikely to vote for Gore or any democrat as the republicans or moderates Gore was trying to court. Nothing Gore could have done as long as he had the (D) after his name would have been enough for these people to vote for him. These people wanted and still want to do away wit the 2 party system and will always vote third party. Which is their prerogative, but this notion that all these Nader voters were just sitting around WANTING to vote for Gore but just not being able to is disingenuous.

9. I agree that not ALL the votes would have went to Gore...

but a lot of liberal, more to the left democrats have gone green or other third parties. I've heard a lot of republicans have gone to the libertarian party and the republicans always accuse their candidates of "stealing their votes". Pure stupidity in my opinion. Nobody "steals" legitimate votes, they earn them. I don't buy the repug libertarian thing though. The libertarians are against everything they're for. Libertarians support smaller and cheaper government, HA, they are strongly against the war or any war out of our country, they support same sex marriage, assisted suicide, seperation of church and state, abortion and drug legalization. Seems like a hard sell to me getting a repug to convert to that.
