I got an personal email from Michael Moore re: Sicko this morning.

This is NEAT! He really is reading the emails, or someone in his office is... as everyone probably knows he's collecting stories about healthcare in America from people for his new movie Sicko. He sent out a letter to his list and on his site, Friday I think. http://www.michaelmoore.com

I have the typical healthcare nightmare... I have cancer, lost my good job and insurance due to an outsourcing at my company, went without insurance for 3 years and am now stuck with medicaid and getting sub par treatment.

So I told Mike my story yesterday in email and just got this... it does not appear to be a form reply:

I'm so sorry you got cancer, KyndCulture. I hope Michael Moore can somehow provide you w/some help. It makes me disgusted what this country will spend money on ... the govt. takes our tax dollars, then spits on citizens who need their tax dollars back in the form of healthcare. We are a barbaric country.

I'm sorry to hear that you have cancer, but thrilled for you that someone is willing to listen to you tell your story. I do hope that you make a full recovery. I, as well as many people I know, intend on writing M.M. with our horror stories, as well.

11. Years ago I emailed him

I was reading one of his books. I was working the night shift for 911 and I took a call from a manager of a KFC. He asked one of the girls to take out the trash and she left the door a slab open so she could get back inside. Bad guy shows up and shoots the manager. The manager the whole time he talked with us was worried about his JOB not his bullet hole. Worried they were going to fire him because of the door. Poor, poor guy.

Michael and I were both amazed at that story. He answered my email also.

Of course it never should have happened to you AT ALL, but that's obvious.

How did you get medicaid? We have been without insurance for 14 years. I always assumed if we came down with cancer we'd just have to die.
